house party. part 7.
Robby finally stepped outside for a smoke break after Langdon regained consciousness post-slap, and when he came back in, he found Javadi freaking out on the couch and McKay trying to coax her out of calling 911 to report she was having a cardiac event.
At that point, he figured it was probably time to head home. He wandered across the living room, looking around to see if he could spot Dennis anywhere, and he finally did.
He was now in the kitchen hanging on Jack with messy hair and wearing an old David Bowie t-shirt that Robby recognized as being his own that Jack kept 'borrowing' and never gave back. Seeing Dennis in his clothes was a hell of a sight, but it begged the question: why was he wearing that?
Robby approached them and saw Jack mixing up a drink.
"Hey, want a Jack and coke?" Jack said, making himself laugh.
"That joke wasn't funny twenty years ago and it still isn't funny now," Robby replied shortly. "Whitaker, why do you look like you just got hit by a bus?"
Dennis looked up and a blush spread across his face. He gave Robby the most adorable little tipsy smile and giggled, but didn't answer. His eyes lit up when the song changed and he jumped up and down. "Oh my god, turn this up! Trin!"
He ran across the room and squealed with Santos like a couple of schoolgirls before they both started dancing, sloshing their drinks all over the floor.
Robby, Jack, and Garcia all stood there staring as Dennis and Trinity shook their asses to whatever song got them so excited.
Watching Dennis twerk on Santos was enough to make Robby forget that he was pissed off and enough to make him want to stay a bit longer too.

A little later, Robby went to check on Langdon, who was laying down in the guest room so he didn't throw up or crash his car while Mel sat next to him playing solitaire on the pillows with Jack's poker cards. He checked on Javadi too, who was passed the fuck out laying on McKay's lap on the couch in the middle of the loudest part of the party.
Then he spotted Mohan standing off to the side and approached her. "Having fun?"
She gave him an exhausted look. "Jack said he was gonna drive me home but he's too busy getting blitzed with Dennis."
Robby looked over his shoulder at the pair of them, clenching his jaw, and then looked back at her. "Jack, huh?"
She made a face. Like she had just been caught.
"So he's going after you, too?" Robby asked. He rubbed the tense muscles at the base of his neck. "I always knew he was a dick but this is a bit much, even for him."
"It's not like that," Mohan said quickly. "We started talking, just as colleagues, after the PittFest, and it kinda went from there. And it's not like he's cheating on me. I know he's poly."
Robby squinted at her. "What?"
"Polyamorous," she said. "You know, dating more than one person at a time. I told him it was okay to be with Dennis, so don't worry about me."
"So... Wait..." Robby sighed, trying to wrap his head around what she was telling him, but he barely registered half of it. "You and Jack have been... dating?"
"Yeah."
"For how long?"
"About two months now. Officially, anyways."
Robby looked back at Jack again and caught him waving at Mohan.
She waved back and sighed. "I need a different ride home. I don't suppose you're sober enough?"
"No, sorry," Robby lied. "Maybe try Dana?"
"She left hours ago."
"Then McKay."
"Trapped under Victoria."
"Langdon?"
"Still out after Trin slapped the shit out of him."
Robby let out a breath and shrugged.
"You're no help," Mohan said, waving him away impatiently. "Go somewhere else."
