Most accounts Murkey some would think about saving the best for last but not when it came to Leon. Murkey was more than excited to bring him this gift. Running almost to make it to the house so she could have them all try it. Along with something she had been hiding for a while not to give to him. Slipping up the house stairs she still couldn't break the habit of knocking.
Leon had had a busy week, all things considered, and he was enjoying the peace of a day off by actually doing nothing, for once, aside from making tea. Which, to other people, was making lunch, since “tea” meant rather more than a cup of boiling water and some scented leaves to a Gilnean. Far as he was concerned, he was doing nothing. It was only sandwiches, scones, biscuits and honey, c’mon…
He had just set the tray down in the living room when he heard the knock, and ducking back into the kitchen to fetch a second cup just in case, bellowed “It’s open!”
He never did lock the front door when he was home.
