The Secret To Dining In Times Square
The other weekend, I had plans to see "Of Mice and Men" and was looking for a place to eat before the show. It's no secret that the Theater DIstrict is devoid of good, affordable dining options so, naturally, I was struggling to find a suitable option. We ended up going to Esca and, while delicious, my dinner cost me an arm and a leg. If only I had known about Tender.
Located within the Sanctuary Hotel on 47th Street, the restaurant and lounge offers premium steaks and world-class sushi, prepared respectively by Executive Chef Dale Schnell (Picholine) and Chef Edwin Purnomo (Sushi of Gari). Also on offer: starters like wild ginger edamame and spicy tuna with crispy rice as well as specialties like organic roasted chicken, Atlantic salmon and asparagus risotto. There are even cocktails by award-winning mixologist Isaac Grillo, like the Tender Breeze with gin, Aperol, lemon, burnt grapefruit and plum bitters. Sorry, Esca, but next time I'm planning a pre-show dinner, I'm choosing Tender.
Fuel up before the theater with dinner for two.
