Pretentious Art Work - Modern Overrated Artist & Their Shit Work Are Eaten Up By Guiled Art Critics & Collecters (How The Hell Was I Not Kicked Out Of Uni, I Will Never Know)
hello yes i am a professional artist if you dont understand this you dont understand art selling my only print for no less than $1.6 million and a bottle of your most pretentious wine thank you :)
Art takes talent. Calling Andy Warhol an artist is an insult to all the actual artists in the world.
Fuck Andy Warhol
Just heard an ad for an Andy Warhol exhibition at a local museum. Ugh... Andy Warhol might not have been the cause of the death of American art, but he certainly was one of the people who killed it, with his ugly-ass traced-line paintings of bullshit like soup cans. Which isn't what bothers me about his art. If he'd have called it neo-dadaism, I would have been fine with it. But AFAIK, he didn't. AFAIK, he thought his art was actually worthy of being in museums. Even though anyone with an overhead projector, a photocopier, plastic overhead projection sheets to copy onto, the ability to trace lines onto a canvas, and the ability to paint within lines could have done what Andy Warhol did. "Oooh look at my art, isn't it so special? Aren't I just the bee's fucking knees? Hurr dburr!"
"Art" by Felix Gonzalez-Torres at my local museum. Guess what it's worth? 7 million dollars! Christ, the art world is so pretentious and full of shit.
me at 4 am: “ lets do a selfportrait to improve my face painting skills.” 20 mins later “ what was i doing again Q_Q?”
The key to making it big in the modern shitty art world is access to wealthy people gullible enough to think that putting a $10 Ikea bedspread over a $30 K-Mart folding chair and tying the bedspread to the chair's legs with a single dollar's worth of bargain basement ribbons, which you've titled "The Melancholy of Dr. Loneliness" (or some other pretentious bs that took you 30 seconds to think of) is something they should spend millions of dollars on.
