Loving "Pretty DJ" by The Jacques http://ift.tt/2puKBZ9
There's something about this young Bristol band, The Jacques, and their quirky rock song Pretty DJ that pulled me in vigorously. The Jacques is made up of two sets of brothers, all aged 16 to 21, and they have a classic Britpop sound in their music that brings to mind classics by The Strokes and The Ramones, but with a playful modern pop punk twist. Pretty DJ is the title track off their recent debut EP, out on 25 Hour Convenience Store (a really cool label name, if I might say so). Watch The Jacques' video for the song below. It will add even more to their charm and charisma.
Fans of The Libertines, we've got a new band for you! The Jacques is a band of two sets of brothers, ranging from the age of 16-21. On November 3, the band will be releasing their debut EP Pretty DJ and they've released their leading track of the same name on their Soundcloud already. "Pretty DJ" is the type of breezy indie rock music that we love, with catchy lyrics and guitars that make us melt. And the rhythm on this song is absolutely on point.
THE JACQUES announce Pretty DJ EP and dates
The Jacques are the bastard teenage love child of cockney guitar pop and just about anything that came out of New York during the early ‘00s.
Two sets of brothers, all 16-21, they charge with their Britpop bayonets against the modern view that rock and roll with clever lyrics is dying. Brought up on a diet of The Strokes, The Ramones, The Jam, The Lemonheads and Elvis Costello, they brought their own brand of noisy pop punk to festival stages across the summer, most recently at Hyde Park in London, where they supported The Libertines. They will release their debut Pretty DJ EP (recorded in Rockfield Studios with Dan Swift) through 25 Hour Convenience Store on November 3rd. Gary Powell, Libertines drummer and label co-founder, signed the band on the spot after seeing them perform in Hyde Park.
The Jacques have announced the following dates. Check www.thejacques.co.uk for tickets: 8th October The Islington, London 22nd October The Shacklewell Arms, London 8th November The Thunderbolt, Bristol
