Okies, I must confess, my brain.exe is not computing about how Caine returned and the whole scene of him in the Void.

Pretty please, can someone help me figure this out? Some are saying it's a flashback, and it's from the day he learns about the brain scans, and it has me muddled up for some reason. I'm not stupid, really, lol! I get everything else, but the final part with Caine just isn't sticking.

Are there any links or theories from anyone on here or elsewhere on the web? Is there anyone in the fandom that can spare a moment? 😊🙏
