Night Owls (Closed RP w/prettyflyfamiliar)

Medi was sitting alone in Pitch Black World, sitting atop one of the many trees around this rather gothic forest. The curved, hooked trees gave off a slightly unsettling atmosphere but the Mint Rabbit didn’t seem to mind it at all. She had finished another entry into her diary, though she was growing more fed up with the voices and this stress, yet she sighed and began to think of Silone.

The feeling of her soft fur gave her a feeling of clarity and serenity that she hadn’t felt in a long time; She put her diary away and leapt off the tree.

Maybe it’s time I paid Silone another visit.. I’m starting to miss her..

She began making her way through the forest as she started her trek towards Silone’s house, which was not far enough away to warrant use of her mana.

As she strolled through, trying to clear her head, an odd sensation filled her..

The sensation of being watched...

Her Scalpel was already in her sleeve, ready to be drawn out at the first sign of an ambush.

Wait, what is dreamwidth

It looks a little weird at first but it’s like....a journal community that has a really, really, REALLY, really huge roleplay community. In fact I’m pretty sure it caters primarily to roleplayers.

It’s a near carbon copy of what used to be a website called livejournal, but then livejournal started making super shitty changes just like tumblr except WORSE since they would openly mock people who came to them about issues. Roleplayers made up most of the revenue for livejournal and when LJ continued to be asshats everyone pretty much migrated to dreamwidth.

They made all sorts of new implementations to help roleplayers transfer all their entries, icons, and what not to dreamwidth easily and are always speaking with people to find out what’s working and what isn’t.

So essentially the way thing works is that you make a journal for your character.

Like so. The nice thing about DW is that you only need one email account and you can make as many journals as you want. Then there is a chrome add on called LJ login that lets you easily change between them.

DW also has a place where you can store icons so you can use a drop down menu (or a browse menu if you have a paid account) so you can pick them out whenever you make a reply.

As I mentioned before most roleplaying goes on in games which have an application process and activity check, but there are meme communities for goofing off and sometimes people just do roleplaying right in their journal. There are also things called museboxes which can be where people do elongated roleplays, or they can be communities dedicated to specific fandoms. For example I’m part of a Mogeko one here

There you can check out some of the roleplaying----that’s mostly a crack post but as you can see since replies appear directly below posts it’s so much easier to go back and read and makes group roleplaying so much easier. When someone replies to a post you make you get an email so you know exactly when someone does. You can turn this off if you don’t want your email getting cluttered though.

The pup had to take the others hand and gesture for her to come on the pups level, before standing on her tippy-toes and giving Shizk a peck on the cheek.

Shizk while in her more animal like form is gonna land on Silone's shoulder without hurting her on purpose.

Silone was letting out a small yawn before her ears turned top her head in the direction of the silent flyer, not soon enough to turn before the owl landed on her shoulder. The uniforms thickness and the shoulder pad helped with the talons, and Silone never minded Shizk, in fact she was glad the bird was here and turned to give the owl a big smile.

“Hello Shizk!”

Out in the Forest, a young girl with paling skin hummed as she took a step forward, she was charged by her master to seek a bird, in hpoes of gaining her a familiar...for her master, not her, of course. Though she was still an apprentice, she was still far from qualified to gain an apprentice.

It had taken hours for her to even stumble upon any animal at this time of night, but finally...she saw something. Something with wings. How perfect!

“Hello!” She called out to the bird, hoping it was one of those magic animals, and not a regular bird.

There is so much that Penny knows, and so much that she doesn’t know. Numbers and calculations, their answers and various means of getting to their solutions flow through her head seamlessly. The temperature and geography are factors she is constantly aware of. She can tell a person’s condition and various facts of their biology and health simply by touching them.

Yet she knows nothing of social etiquette. She knows nothing of norms and relationships and basic everyday fundamental or an organic’s life. All she knows, is that she doesn’t know, and that is because she came into consciousness all alone.

No idea of how, no idea of why, and no idea who had made her. She’d only been traveling a month--short enough to still feel lost and confused, long enough to know that she was an unwanted oddity. What exactly was she to do? It seemed she was better off avoiding civilization for now considering the last time she entered a town she ended up being chased out. It seemed like most people weren’t exactly...comfortable with people of her kind. It brought to mind a lot of questions that she really had no idea how to answer, and at least she figured for now it was best to keep what she was a secret.

Of course it was hard to do that when she didn’t really know what was considered ‘normal’ for organic folk. All the more reason to try and avoid people.

With a soft sigh she raised her gaze skyward, seeing the silhouette of an owl against the falling sun. Odd. She hadn’t thought to find owls in this area.
