"It should not have went beyond this!" She whispered to him. Hurt crossed his face before he let the anger boil over.
"What do you mean 'it shouldn't have went beyond this?' Y/N, we've been wanting each other for years!" He cried. "I've been waiting for you!"
She stepped back and looked at the front door, it was a few feet away, and she'd reach it before he could.
"Erik, listen to me. It was a mistake, I didn't mean for it to happen.."
"So the way you kissed me was a mistake? You were passionate, loving... Last night was extraordinary, we're perfect for each other." He started walking towards her after he said that.
Determination in his eyes, she didn't know what he was planning to so when he reached her. She knew Erik would never put his hands on her, but since he came back from his tour, he's been more aggressive than usual.
"No Erik Y–you do not base love off of one night stands!" She stuttered. "That's not how love goes!"
"H–how would you know that!? You've never loved a man in your life!"
She stood still, shocked. Why would he– She shook her head, looked down at her feet and let the memories of their time together run through her head. Years of memories that could never be replaced. No one could replace Erik Stevens in Y/N's life. No one.
Erik was her best friend, they had grew up in Oakland together. But went their separate ways when they graduated high school, Erik to the Army and Y/N went to college.
She looked up to Erik, her eyes brimming with tears.
"Just because you were my first, DOES NOT give you the right to dictate what I do."
He knew he had messed up, he knew what he said was completely wrong. Y/N and Erik have been friends since grade school! Erik knew what pushed her buttons, Erik knew what made her laugh, cry, or angry. Sometimes he could make her do that all at once. He pushed her buttons and had pushed her to reach her goals. They were like Ying Yang, completely different, but when joined together, they could fit perfectly. And they did.
"Listen to me Y/N–"
"No!" She shouted. "Do NOT use that tone on me!" She turned, her eyes dark and her skin burning with anger, her face no doubt flushed. "You've lost your damn mind if you think that'll keep me here!"
Erik approached her cautiously, standing in front of her before he reached up to touch her face. Tears had already fell down her face and onto her chest. He wiped a tear with his thumb before she turned her head to look away.
He let out a sigh and stepped a few feet away. He watched her hand on the door knob, her wrist shaking with nerves. He knew she was angry, but underneath he could see fear.
"Why are you running from me?" he asked softly.
"Because I know what you're capable of."
Erik stood there stunned, he wasn't sure what she was talking about. Not sure about what she heard or who gave her any information on him.
"WHAT HAVE YOU HEARD!?" He was suddenly in her face. Y/N yelped and her back slammed against door. He was flush against her body, he could feel her heart beating in her chest. If she was a bit fearful before but now she's terrified.
He knew immediately that he had to let her go. He couldn't force her to stay, so he backed away from her and turned away. Shame making his chest ache and the fact she was walking away from him made it worse.
The only indication that she had left was the slamming of the door. He stood in the middle of the room for a while before walking towards the door. He opened it and the door slammed against the wall, but when he looked out into the hallway, it was empty.
She had really left him.
