Three SF giants pitchers disgraced themselves at the team's Pride Night, weaponizing the Pride rainbow and attacking the LGBTQ community.

Sports leagues and teams often use Pride nights to raise the visibility and acceptance of LGBTQ+ people — as well as sell them tickets — and
I mean, I know this is one of those situations where trans people are like screaming at their screen right now going “I told you! I fucking told you!“ But this feels like the canary in the coal mine. The American national hockey league have had LGBTQ pride nights for years as a way to show solidarity with the LGBTQ community, and to encourage LGBTQ fans to come to games.
However, something has changed. This season six players have refused to wear the LGBT pride jersey due to religious beliefs, and several teams have canceled LGBT pride nights, I don’t think the article specifies, but I gleaned that it might be out of abundance of caution in states with oppressive LGBT laws. I’ll admit that as a cis gay dude a lot of the anti-gay stuff has been stuff that I’ve been insulated from, but this feels different and scary. Everyone stay safe out there.
