And now...he waits for the snow to come...
He blinked when the music stopped and uncurled, leaning forward to close the lid to the small box and pick it up. The key coming from the back of it was carefully twisted again, not too hard or fast, he was worried about breaking it, before it was set back down and opened back up. Once again, soft chimes of notes filled up the space in front of him and Pride curled in on himself again. Listening.
Various pens and pencils had gone missing over the previous days, and never seemed to turn up. Pride didn’t see the harm in it, no one else was using them, and he was bored. The last people painted over the things he drew before so he was just adding new ones. Which was exactly the reason the little ghost boy was standing up on a side table to be able to reach higher up on the wall. It looked too empty anyways.

He sees and gently demands and hopes for a hug now.
“Bad days”
That’s what he’d heard his siblings call them once, “Pride is having one of his bad days” and they’d watch him more carefully in the long run. He hated that, it felt like they were picking him apart under their gaze and he tried to shut himself away where they didn’t have to see the “bad day”. Pride just knew them as LOUD.
When the noise in his head got to be too much to ignore and it was all he could do to huddle quietly in a corner and make himself small. Every hissing voice and whisper filled the room and no matter how hard he covered his ears, no matter how much he cried and pleaded for them to stop and be quiet again, they would rage on. His eyes would move around the room some days, scanning to be sure that no one was actually a source for it all, others he’d just stare at the floor, a wall, and slump in defeat until the Noise became a dull hum and faded away entirely.
It would take time to get to that, though, and he was already rubbing the side of his head and trying to focus on a crack in his wall instead, huddled in a corner bumbling lightly against the wall to his side and hoping they went quiet soon.

Al had gotten out. Only this time the kitten seemed intent on running all over the place and investigating as Pride raced after the animal. He finally caught it at the end of one of the hallways, getting a series of innocent looks to his fingers and picking it up, only to see Envy.
“........he ran.”
It got dark early now, that meant Pride got to come outside sooner, and for longer. If it meant seeing his breath and feeling his skin get cold, it was well worth it.
He didn’t really care about the fireworks. They looked pretty enough but the lounder sounding explosions always startled him. Pride winced after another one and paused the movie, getting up to go dig out his headphones. At least it would cut the sound of explosions down outside his window while he watched.
