PRIDECAST ALERT! PRIDECAST ALERT!
Three of the biggest Pride parades in the United States will be held today on the last day of Pride Month. (Other cities and towns will have their celebrations later this year.) Here's how to watch them on TV (and even hear them over something called radio!):
NEW YORK CITY: The official WorldPride celebration for 2019 (the city's First Lady is bisexual) will be carried over WABC-TV Ch. 7 live at 12 Noon - 4 pm EDT (1600-2000 UTC). Livestream here; via YouTube, or their app
CHICAGO: The parade (the city elected its first lesbian mayor this year) starts at 12 noon locally but coverage begins on WLS-TV Ch. 7 live at 1 - 3 pm CDT (1800-2000 UTC), and available for viewing later on its website. Or if you have to keep your eyes on the road while driving, local progressive talk radio station WCPT-820 AM will once again air "play-by-play" with "Out Chicago" host Scott Duff aboard the station's float and co-host Ellen Miller from the stands from 12 noon - 4 pm (1700-2100 UTC). The coverage can be heard through its website or through its own and the TuneIn Radio apps.
SAN FRANCISCO: The parade starts at 11 am locally. It won't be on over-the-air TV *sob* but will be streamed by KPIX-TV Ch. 5 over its website at 10:30 am - 3:30 pm (1730-2230 UTC). Highlights will air on 6 July over KPIX and sister station KBCW-TV 44. KBCW-TV also carries "The Michelle Meow Show," hosted by the lesbian activist and former San Francisco Pride chairperson, Sundays at 10:30 - 11 pm.
