well, it mostly stems from the fact that i’m a woman of color who regularly has to deal with news about people with my skin tone being killed and harassed over having the balls to exist. and most of that harassment comes from forces of the law who only got a badge so they could be bullies with a permit.
but aside from that, there are multiple young white men who see it as some type of civic duty to start race wars, kill gay people, and the like and the idea that they’re being patted on the back and praised and treated like they’re the real victims is worrisome to say the least and insulting at the worst.
bare in mind, i have no problem with those in the tcc who are interested in detective work, human psychology, forensic science,or perhaps are just researching it for their own enjoyment or the sake of information. (i can vouch for this since i’m a writer and i often have to go into the deep, dark archives of wikipedia to study sociopathic behavior and the like)
what i do take major offense to is those who make memes, write slash fan fiction, and comment on images of dylann roof and the columbine shooters with sweet condolences about how they were “gone too soon” and “deserved a second chance” and “were sweet adorable dorks omg”.
so excuse me if at times my commentary on the community comes off as immature and petty (i have deleted those posts mainly due to finding them a tad childish), it’s because it comes from a place of being sick and tired of the death of minorities being treated like some sort of small detail of a murderer’s life, the victim's ethnicity being thrown aside for the sake of making the murderer seem tragic and poetically miserable rather than just an image of normalized racism.
