Okay, so basically, the first thing we need to do is write the script. One of the reasons that I got so overwhelmed was for the same reason we had to get rid of our goats: It was too much, too fast. I thought that we needed to get everything all lined up from the start; voice actors, concept art, animation. And no one tried to tell me otherwise.
So this time we're going to take things slowly. Script first, other stuff later. I started a Google doc for the script, with the notes and edited character names (I never said it before, so thank you for the new names, harknessismyhoney. I like the new ones a lot better.)
I'm still pretty new to the whole Google docs thing. Not really clear on how to do a lot of stuff, but I'll figure it out eventually. So anyway, the link is on the Primeval Renew Blog. If you can't remember the password, it's prp, then the five numbers that were etched into the artifact in season three, all one word (prp*****).
Supposedly, if you have the link, you can read it, but I think that I have to invite you to edit it. I don't know, like I said, this is kinda new to me. If you have problems, let me know, and I'll see if I can do something about it.
I haven’t been working on the Primeval Renew Project at all, and have unfortunately left the rest of you hanging. I have no excuses. I just dropped everything without any warning. That wasn’t very mature of me, and I am sorry. I started to get so overwhelmed with it all, because like everything else in my life, I started with very little planning. Then I didn’t do or say anything because I was embarrassed by the way that I acted.
But I have returned, and I have regained some of the confidence that I had at the start. Enough to actually start working on the script in April, for Camp Nanowrimo. So if you still want to help, or if there are any new people who want to help, please. I would be so grateful.
Okay, so week three! We still have a long way to go, but we're going to make it. The Promo Images are looking good, thanks to dkarts, and we've got a bit of the story board mock-ups. There was a slight setback on that and the set designs, but hopefully we'll see those soon.
So, for the screenwriters, if you've been watching the PRP blog, you've seen a few posts regarding how we will work on the script. Google Doc is probably the way to go, but not everybody has a Google account. If you are a screenwriter, and you do not have a Google or Youtube account, please let me know. (The reason I included YouTube is because you can use Google stuff, like Google analytics and Google Doc without having a Google email.)
Other than that, I, and a few other team members, will be away for a week or so. My internet access will be sporadic. When I get back on Thursday, I will start getting things together and, if someone else hasn't already done so, work out a way we can collab on the script.
Maybe not everybody has heard, but there is a private blog I made for Primeval Renew team members. If you want to post to it, send me your email in my ask box. I will not publish or share it with anybody. But if there is an email or other way for your team members to contact you, send your contact info to penandapincusion, to add to this post.
Also, if anybody knows any animators who would like to help on this project, their help would be greatly appreciated.
[I am so sorry you guys. I accidentally posted this once before but it was the draft version, so here's the newer one with all the links.]
There may be parts of this that aren't completed. Feel free to write whatever you think fits there. Remember, thought none of this is set in stone (yet).
Character list (I just used a random name generator and a list of character archetypes [using the Enneagrams list] for all of them, so if you don't like any of the names or character types, change them.)
Anomaly Containment Team 12 (or CT-12)-
Brandon Morel, former army doctor- Two: Helper, Giver, Caretaker
Jason Samuels, Team leader - Eight: Leader, Protector, Challenger
The official protocol for containing the anomalies is to physically take them and move them to a secure site, where they and the creatures, are monitored. The reason is because it's easier to contain the creatures. (Or so they say.)
The anomalies are becoming more and more frequent.Because of this, certain teams are being assigned to monitor anomalies in the field.
One of the teams assigned is our main protagonists, CT-12. CT-12 is a relatively new team. They don't know each other very well and as a team they are dysfunctional.
The movie opens to the outside of a shopping mall at night. The night guard discovers the anomaly and is attacked by some small creature whilst making his rounds. Then the camera cuts back to the outside of the building, and fades into daylight.
Police are there and doing police stuff when an anomaly team arrives. Someone reported a creature incursion, but the ARC didn't pick up any anomalies. Nobody can find the body, so the team figures out that there must have been an anomaly and the night guard was dragged through it.
Back at the ARC, the tech expert (Margaret Murillo) is running diagnostics on the ADD, but finds nothing. Team leader is unconvinced that something other than the machine is wrong and tells the tech to check it again, which they do.
Antony (the guy in charge of the ARC) tells the team leader (Jason Samuels) that they need to talk. Antony tells Jason that they are dysfunctional and need to learn to work together. Jason says that they'll work on it.
An anomaly is detected and CT-12 goes to check it out. While they are taking anomaly readings, someone comes through it. (Someone from the core team, maybe, but let call them Carla for now). Carla convinces the team to listen to them before the call it in.
The government was using the anomalies to "correct" the mistakes of the past. They had a bunker in the past, filled with "trouble makers", people who were starting to get in the government's way. The reason it's in the past is because while the government wants people out of their way, a lot of the people who are smart enough to figure it out are smart enough to help with the anomalies. Those who don't help are arrested. Some of those people are the core team. Others are civilians who knew too much.
Meanwhile, back at the ARC, a soldier comes and tells Antony that there's been a security breach at the base (the one in the past) and that he need to go the anomaly site where CT-12 is and secure it and all the persons involved.
When Antony gets there, Carla runs back through. Brandon follows, and then the rest of the team. They are pursued by a security team and they hide.
Once they are safe, Carla goes into more detail about what happened. After convergence, the government decided that it would be safer to contain the anomalies at a secure location instead of letting them appear everywhere, saying that it would be safer for the civilian population, not to mention that there would be less creature incursions to cover up. Because Connor had discovered a way to move the anomalies, this was possible.
But the core team was opposed to the idea. They said that the anomalies were a natural phenomena and needed to be left alone. Shortly after this, it was 'arranged' for the core team to disappear investigating an anomaly.
At this point, Brandon said that there is a memorial plaque on a wall in the ARC. When the team didn't return, and remains found matching their descriptions were found, everybody thought they were dead.
Carla continued to say that she knew the way back to the bunker, but Pedro says that they need to fix the timeline. Mia agrees and says that the anomalies are changing because of what the government was doing. They were being altered somehow, and that soon, if the timeline isn't fixed, the anomalies could converge again, but because of their proximity, they would merge too quickly, leading to a magnetic pole that could rip a hole in the magnetosphere that would destroy the planet in seconds.
Justin says that unless they get everyone to the present, everybody in the past will remember and start over. So they decide to rescue everybody and send them back to the present. But when they try to rescue them, the team gets arrested.
Gene, Margaret, and Lucinda become concerned when CT-12 doesn't come back. Lucinda accidentally overhears Antony and discovers what is going on. The three of them decide to go rescue their friends.
What they end up doing is creating a distraction, and Jason takes the opportunity to escape and get the rest of his team. After (finally) getting everyone to the present, they do something that fixes the timeline (not really sure what yet), history corrects itself, and everything fades to white.
The movie ends with this scene: The core team is on their way to an anomaly, and passed by a cafe, where Connor accidentally bumps into one of the other team members (who isn't a team member anymore). The person watched the core team run off, and goes back to whatever they were doing. They pass by their 'boy/girl friend in another timeline'. Neither acknowledge each other. And then we roll the end credits.

So, what do you guys think? Do you like it, do you think it needs some work, or do you think we need to scrap it and start over?
This has been the first week of the project, and there has been a huge interest taken in this project already. We have a few thing we need to go over, however. I need to figure out the schedule of events. I order to do that, I need to know what people can get done by what time.
There is not a time constraint. I just need to figure out when I can expect to see stuff, so that I can figure out if we need help in certain areas.
There are only a few things that I know for sure are being worked on. I HAVE TO KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON. Please at least tell me when I can expect stuff. I don't care if you tell me that you can only update me every week, or every month, or every other month. I just need to know when to expect stuff. Or when you can tell me about said stuff.
I should have a solid story outline ready by tomorrow so that the writers can start working on that. It will not be the final draft, and will be subject to change.
And guys? I just wanted to say how awesome it is to have this opportunity to work with all of you toward this shared goal. And I hope we'll all get there in one piece.
(For team members, please like if you read this. I just want to know who this reaches. Thanks.)
If anybody doesn't like their assigned titles, I can always change it. Same if anybody wants to do something else, or switch jobs. For those of you who want to see what other jobs are available, click the link here. The it is grouped by similar jobs. The words that look like this are the titles that don't actually apply the the list they appear in.
If I missed anybody, I am sorry. Send me a message and I will fix it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. =)
(Please like or reblog so that I know who all has seen this. For those working on the project, send penandapincushion your contact info so that we can comunicate more effectively. The contact info can be seen here.)
