Headcanon that the first present Lester buys Becker’s first child is a toy tank

When the kids are learning how to walk, Becker’s the one that holds onto them for as long as possible to make sure they don’t fall and Alex is the one that keeps shuffling backwards to encourage them to walk further

James is Alex and Becker’s eldest child. He was born before they married, so his mother gave him her last name. He was named for his father (Hilary James) his great-uncle (Stephen James) and his godfather (James Lester) Though Becker had rather hoped his son would also be into guns and punching, James is much more interested in art, particularly photography He knows he should be interested in the ARC, and knows that his parents will want him to work there. He feels that they’re just putting too much pressure on him to be like them

Sarah Becker

Sarah is the middle child and the only daughter of the Hart/Becker family. Her full name is Sarah Danielle. Becker chose it Sarah is very intelligent, reads almost constantly and tries very hard to cook She asks lots of questions, almost all of which are answered by, “Ask Connor.” Sarah’s the one that trains the dog, and fixes the clock, and rescues the toaster when her little brother mistakes it for the CD player again

Adrian Becker

He’s named after both his parent’s fathers, Adrian and Richard. Mostly because if Alex and Becker hadn’t named one of the kids after one of his parents, they may or may not have disowned him completely He’s never called Adrian, always called Addy Little Addy Becker’s favourite thing to do is crawl around on all fours with the dog. He is perpetually covered in mud and glue and biscuit crumbs. Has a habit of pouring honey over himself

Nicola Temple was named, of course, after Professor Cutter. She is never called Nicola. Everyone calls her Nikki. Her dad has a habit of calling her Nik She’s always taken more after her mother, always interested in plants and animals. However, she can’t keep plants alive to save her life, so all she has are succulents and cacti She really enjoys working at the ARC in the menagerie, and hates trying to do stuff with computers and technology. The one time she tried to fix a computer she almost blew up the ARc Becker taught her how to shoot and fight before Abby had a chance

Sadie is the wild child, and the older twin. She’s trying her level best to be Spider-Man. Can and will climb anything and everything. Abby once found her halfway up the wall of the mammoth’s enclosure Sadie has the strange ability where, after speaking to people, she talks like them, picking up their accents and certain inflections on words Thomas Temple, always called Tommy, was named after Connor’s best friend. Tommy was born partially deaf, so the whole family (and team) is excellent at BSL. He tries his hardest to speak, and can string together short sentences from time to time. He’s the only child to inherit any of Connor’s allergies Tommy likes to tinker with his dad’s devices

Her full name is Maddison Claudia Miller. Jenny let her husband pick their daughter’s middle name Maddie is very shy. Her parents often wonder if she has social anxiety. She hates talking to people, cannot deal with crowds. Sometimes she’s completely mute for days or weeks on end She’s closest to James out of all the other kids. She’ll talk quietly to him, or if she doesn’t want to speak, they’ll text or sign She likes working computers, and often sits with Jess at the ADD, both of them tapping away on their computers

Strangely enough, she’s super into history, and is training to become a history teacher She’s very stubborn. She always thinks before she acts, she’s quick (and good) at maths, and is also an excellent liar

Taylor was a year or two behind Jess at school After her experience with the anomalies, Taylor would go into the computer lab to research about the anomalies, Cutter, Stephen and the creatures she had encountered. Jess would often be in the computer lab at the same time, and she would ask Taylor questions about what she was researching Taylor tried her best to find those people again, and she never doubted their existence Sometimes she would finds little breadcrumbs of clues. And then she got a lead. The address. So she snuck in The intruder alarm went off immediately, but she wasn’t caught until she got to the ops room Where she found Jess, and they each promptly freaked out about the other being there, just as Becker burst in, completely out of breath

There’s an old lady who lives in the flat next to Becker’s. Her name is Edith Foster. When he moved in, Edith would pop round to check on him. She visits every week or so. Edith has a daughter, Melanie, who lives with her Melanie gave birth to her son Stanley on the day Nick Cutter died A few months later, Mrs Foster popped round to Becker’s flat with her daughter and grandson, and found Alex Hart sitting on the sofa. Melanie recognised Alex from the hospital From then on, Alex (and Becker) became the go-to babysitters for Stanley. They look after him when Mel goes out or on odd weekends or weeks, to give Mel and Mrs Foster breaks When Stanley isn’t in nursery, Alex will take him into work and park him with Jess whenever there is an anomaly (she talked Lester round)
