Hey Rakan, do you have a default father for Inigo? If so, who is it and why did you pick them?
hi sev !! this is a rly cool question, sorry i didn’t get to it earlier.
but! i’ve been writing inigo on and off for 2ish years now, and in that time i’ve almost always defaulted to virion being his father. the reason for this is because a) i love virion’s supports with olivia (also sully is a lesbian in my heart so i can't pair up virion/sully), and b) i love the dynamic virion adds to inigo’s character. with virion as inigo’s father, it would make inigo the technical heir of the duke of rosanne-- provided that virion hadn’t been labelled as a coward and traitor when he fled to save rosanne. i really like the idea of inigo having some tie to nobility, but considering the reputation of his name, he’s seen as a dirty mercenary with a sort of fall from grace who goes around chatting up pretty girls. nobility hates him. it’s just... really fun to play with, honestly. ( initially, i only chose virion to try and get as close to inigo’s canon hair colour as possible, but then i ended up loving it... )
although i know virion isn’t the popular choice and henry is more widely accepted as the default father. i haven’t played around with henry!inigo nearly as much, but i like the idea that inigo inherited his habit of “always smiling, even when you’re hurting” from henry. and uhh inigo having a potential for magic is always fun, so i’d like to write for this more?
my indecisiveness between these two is the reason why my portrayal inigo doesn’t have a set in stone father as of yet.
