To dust or to gold au - Prince Roger meeting Lord Prenter's beautiful new wife for the first time
Roger wondered if anyone else could see the misery in Freddie’s eyes.
He was lovely, Prenter hadn’t been exaggerating about that. Petite, slim, with stunning brown eyes and full lips. Stunning. Surprisingly graceful.
And he looked so sad. Roger couldn’t bear it.
Prenter kept a firm grip on Freddie’s waist, often stroking his hips or grabbing his ass, and the young Omega’s eyes looked dim, no light in them at all, even though he was smiling. That smile wavered and fell whenever Prenter looked away from him.
“Your Highness.” Prenter was suddenly in front of him, still with that iron-tight grip on Freddie’s waist. “May I present my wife? This is Lord Freddie Prenter.”
Roger didn’t miss how Freddie scowled at the use of his married surname, how he kept trying to twist away from Prenter, shuddering when the Alpha reached down to grope his ass.
“Lovely to meet you,” Roger said gently. Freddie looked at him warily and Roger held his hand out. Looking quite reluctant, Freddie took his hand, and Roger kissed his knuckles.
“I understand you’re from Xerxes?” Roger asked.
Roger looked at those sad brown eyes and made a decision. He offered the Omega his arm and said, “I’ve never been. Perhaps you could tell me about it?” He shot Prenter his most sarcastic smile. “If that’s alright with you, my lord?”
Of course Prenter couldn’t say no to his Prince. He didn’t look happy at all, but he nodded.
Freddie finally smiled as he linked his arm with Roger’s, and Roger led him away, towards the terrace.
