for spaghettiluek and seriousluke‘s prince!5sos blurb night!
prince!luke sneaking out one night, a beanie shoved over his head and adorned in his best friend calum's clothes, which consisted of ripped black jeans and a band tee. he wore his lip ring (that he'd managed to hide from his parents for the last few months, an absolute mircle) and he had on sunglasses. he didn't want to be noticed and, even though calum assured him that this crowd probably didn't even know the prince's name, he didn't want to take his chances. he ended up in the backyard at the party, gripping a cold bottle in his hand as he quietly sipped the beer. he wasn't used to the taste - it was actually quite disgusting to him - but he wanted to blend in and everybody else was drinking it without problem. "thank god you've got sunglasses on, the sun's killing me out here," he heard someone retort beside him.
he turned his head, finding you standing next to him with a grin, shielding your eyes from the pretend sun. he chuckled. "gotta be safe, you know? can't risk going blind," he played along.
you smiled, dropping your hand beside you. "i don't know you," you observed. you couldn't see his eyes but, god, you knew you would've remembered those lips and that body.
"i don't know you," he challenged with a small grin.
"do you know anybody? ever since i stepped outside, you've been over here just standing and being borderline creepy," you shot back with a raised eyebrow.
luke felt his cheek heat up. it wasn't the he was shy or couldn't keep a conversation, he was just so fucking worried about giving away his identity. he was nineteen years old and not only was this his first real party (not including business dinners and the fancy balls he's dragged to) but this was his first time being around normal people his age. "i'm shy," he responded, his grin widening.
you laughed. "so, how'd you find out about my party? am i that popular that people are coming from out of town to attend?" you asked, taking a drink of the wine cooler in your hand.
"what makes you think i'm out of town?"
"if you lived around here, i would've been aware of your existence. trust me," you assured him.
he laughed. "do you know calum hood?" he asked, taking a small sip of beer once you nodded. "he's my best friend, he brought me along with him."
"do you want this?" you offered up your wine cooler. "it doesn't seem like you're enjoying that beer and there's plenty of other stuff inside."
"it's kind of warm, so," he began, letting you take the beer from his fingers and replace it with the wine cooler. he took a drink, the pink lemonade taste going down a lot easier. "thanks."
"no problem," you told him. "i'm y/n," you introduced, holding out your hand.
"i'm luke hem-" he paused, stopping himself before he introduced himself by his whole name. he was so used to doing so, it was almost instinct by now. he grinned, pulling off his sunglasses and resting them around his neck, holding your hand and shaking it. "i'm luke, nice to meet you."
