yeah I could see it but i mainly take jontros tweets like a grain of sand. i've met the dude irl and he is pretty okay. but why did the people who made the game put that 'joke' in there its kinda their fault for doing it

yeah, i get that. i’ve never met the guy but to me that really doesn’t excuse what he’s said or done, and he’s definitely done enough other gross things that i can’t forgive him for them anymore. imo it really reflects on what he actually believes which i can’t reconcile even though i like his comedy style and his videos have helped me through some really bad times.

i think that poem was requested by a backer on their kickstarter or something. i agree that the ppl behind the game are mostly at fault, but it doesn’t excuse people defending it by saying people who were hurt by it are oversensitive and “can’t take a joke”.

i’m assuming you don’t get where the transphobia is in that tweet so i’ll do my best to break it down for ya.

okay, so the poem in the game (specifically the lines “the last woman he bedded, turned out a man/and crying in shame of a cliff he ran”) is deeply transphobic because a. it implies that trans women aren’t real women, and b. that having sex with a trans woman is disgusting, which are really harmful attitudes that cause real damage and hurt/kill people. and with jon comparing the removal of that poem to the end of the world (i know it’s a figure of speech but bear with me) he is basically saying he doesn’t care at all about anyone who was affected, especially trans women, which is awful considering what danger they are in just for existing. that specifically is why it’s transphobic.
