Prince of the Stars / Chapter 9
Surprise Attack
After the friendly one on one duel against Prince Lotor and Erza Scarlet, there was an alarm that blared through the castle, alerting everybody on board. Prince Lotor, the Paladins, and the two wizards immediately gathered up on the castle bridge. "What's going on?" Shiro asked.
"There's an unknown anomaly approaching the castle, and the scanners can't seem to identify it," Princess Allura explained while looking over the holographic displays in front of her.
"Holy Quiznak! It's power levels are off the charts!" Coran exclaimed, looking on from his station.
"It looks like a dragon," Keith commented. "It is, in fact that's -" before Jellal could finish his statement, an alarm sounded and a display of red lights popped up on the screens. WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! The alarm system sounded in an autotuned voice. The dragon opened it's jaw and a ball of energy, which came shooting towards the Castle of Lions.
"Particle barrier UP!" Allura shouted, and a few seconds later, a glowing hexagonal shield quickly enveloped the ship.
Just a split second after the particle barrier enveloped the ship, it was overwhelmed by an energy beam twice as powerful as a Galran ion cannon. Even more alarms blared and the screens soon showed that the particle barrier was taking critical damage.
"We're about to lose the particle barrier!" Allura shouted. The ship's defenses then kicked into overdrive and diverted all shields to the bow.
"If this keeps up, the ship will be destroyed!" Coran shouted.
Jellal looked up at the flashing screens and his eyes narrowed, "Your Majesty, let me up on the Crystal Matrix. I have an idea."
"Are you sure?" she asked the blue haired mage and then looked to Erza. She gave a determined nod, "You can trust him Princess," the requip mage reassured her. Then the ship jolted violently, knocking everyone to the floor. The force of the jolt caused Allura to fall backwards off the Crystal Matrix platform.
Erza charged forward and caught Allura, enveloping the Princess's upper body and head in her arms just before she slammed into the floor.
"Are you alright Princess?" Erza asked.
"Yes, thank you," Allura said. The warning system blared again. WARNING! PARTICLE BARRIER CRITICAL! Allura and Erza got up off the floor.
Jellal asked her again, "May I proceed, Princess?"
"Please do, and hurry. I don't know how much longer the particle barrier is going to hold."
"Understood," Jellal stepped up on the Crystal Matrix platform, placed his hands on both the glowing pillars, and focused on transferring his magic energy into the castle defense systems. As Jellal began to transfer his magic into the castle defense systems, a golden glow enveloped him.
Everyone tensed up and prepared for the worst, that is until the sustained blast that was overwhelming the already critical particle barrier, suddenly weakened and then stopped. Everyone except for Jellal looked up and saw the turquoise barrier flicker out and then watched as a beautiful golden barrier replaced it. A groan was heard and everyone looked over to see Jellal panting and sweating profusely.
"Fire the blasters," Jellal panted.
Coran quickly lined up the blasters, locked in on the dragon, and fired.
DEEEAAAAARRRRRGGG!!!
The castle jolted slightly as a beam of pure golden energy shot out. As it shot out, the barrier opened up and allowed the beam the freedom to shoot out into open space. The beam struck the dragon with such force that it put off a shockwave which slammed into the barrier, causing it to flicker.
This was the last straw for Jellal though. The blue haired mage sighed and fell backwards. Keith rushed forward and caught him before he hit the floor. Without so much as a second thought, Shiro immediately took charge.
"Princess, we need to open a wormhole out of here while we still can,"
"Right," Allura took her place on the Crystal Matrix platform and focused on powering up the teladuv. A glowing circular portal appeared in front of the ship a few seconds later and Coran throttled up the engines, powering the ship into the wormhole.
Once the ship exited the wormhole, Erza rushed over to her collapsed husband and gently took him from Keith into her arms.
"Oh Jellal," she murmured and cradled his upper body, holding him close. After about 5 minutes of awkward silence, Shiro finally broke it.
"I can't imagine how much trouble the universe would be in if Zarkon got his hands on that kind of power." he commented. "Are you talking about that dragon we just escaped from?" Keith asked.
"Unfortunately, yes," Shiro sighed. Jellal then stirred and his eyes cracked open to reveal Erza's beautiful face smiling down at him.
"Hello my beautiful angel..." he murmured with goofy smile. "Jellal, you're always so cute like this," Erza said as she ruffled his cerulean hair. There was a collective awww that went around the room, causing both wizards to blush.
Prince of the Stars / Chapter 8
Galran Prince vs. Scarlet Warrior
Erza Scarlet woke up early the next morning. The night before, Jellal had asked her if he could spend the night by himself, to which she agreed with a kiss on the cheek and a smile.
“Love you honey,” Erza smiled at her husband.
“Love you too babe,” Jellal replied, smiling back at his beautiful wife, as she walked off to the Princess' room to get some much needed shut eye.
Erza continued her stroll towards the training deck. She thought about everything that had happened so far. How did Jellal and I get here? What dangers might we face? How are we going to get back to Magnolia? Dare I ask...will we be able to get back, no, don't think like that Erza. We will find a way! The scarlet haired mage rounded a corner and was met with the purple skinned alien that had brought Jellal safely to the castle.
“Oh, hello again,” Erza said in a polite tone, to which the male alien simply responded with a, “Hello, ”as well.
“Let me guess, Prince Lotor, correct?” she questioned.
“Yes, that would be me, and I'm assuming that you are the Erza Scarlet of Fairy Tail.” Prince Lotor replied back to the woman.
“That is correct, ”she said once more.
“Well then, it's a pleasure to meet you Mrs. Scarlet, I was wondering, are you very skilled with a sword?” Lotor asked.
This warranted a smirk from the red haired mage, “I think your in a bit over your head there, Prince,” she said, “I very well know how to use a sword.”
“Well then, let's test your skills,” The Prince then lead Erza to the training deck.
Once on the training deck, both combatants were facing each other, each holding a sword of their own. Lotor's decorated with a purple design running along the blade and a magenta glow on the hilt and end of the grip, while Erza's was a simple silver sword, but still beautifully crafted piece of weaponry.
“I hope you're ready, Mrs. Scarlet, because I won't go easy on you.” Lotor warned, readying his blade. Erza did the same, “Oh really, because I wasn't really planning on 'going easy on you' either.” she mimicked.
Both competitors stood face to face, their weapons drawn and ready. Erza let Lotor make the first move. The Prince came at her twirling his sword with the skills of a true swordsman. Though this was easy for Erza, she side stepped and back flipped, landing gracefully out of reach of the Prince's weapon.
“Requip! Heaven's Wheel Armor! Trinity Sword!” Erza approached Lotor and slashed him in a delta formation, but he dodged just in time, slashing his own sword in her direction to which she blocked by summoning yet another sword. This caught him slightly off guard but the Prince didn't completely let his guard down. Erza kicked him hard in the chest, sending him stumbling backwards a good few feet.
She swapped her armors again, “Requip! Flight Armor!” Erza dashed towards Lotor with blinding speed, slashing at him from all angles, therefore not allowing Lotor to get a single hit on her. She retreated back to her corner of the training deck for a few second breather and to collect her thoughts on what her next move would be.
The Prince groaned and got up out of his defensive position, drawing his sword once more before backing up all the way to the other end of the training deck and then charged at Erza, his sword ready to strike.
Erza took her stance and readied herself.
All right, moment of truth, show him what Fairy Tail is made of.
Erza requipped into her finally armor, “Requip! Clear Heart Clothing!” As Lotor approached, she summoned her blade and enchanted her magic power into it. Prince Lotor jumped and was about to deliver the final blow, but little did he know.
Erza drew her wickedly sharp blade, and jumped up to meet him, slashing clean through his armor and cutting into the skin of his body. Lotor froze, and dropped his sword right then and there, and then he himself dropped to the floor, while Erza landed on her feet on the other side of the training deck.
Lotor looked up and saw Jellal kneeling in front of him, his hand extended, a smirk on his face. Lotor slowly took the blue haired mage's hand and let the man help him up. “I see you wanted to try and hold your own against the 'Tatania'.” Jellal said.
“Yes, I did, and she very well does live up to her name.” Prince Lotor said, looking back at the beautiful scarlet haired woman who was now requipped back into her Heart Kreuz armor. Erza looked at Jellal and smiled, who then smiled back. I'm so lucky to be married to a beautiful warrior like her.
Prince of the Stars / Chapter 7
Bonding
After the pleasantly surprising news of both Jellal and Erza being married couple, the Paladins decided it was time to turn in for the night. Everyone went off to bed, excluding Jellal and Shiro, who couldn't sleep for some reason. Jellal kissed his wife goodnight, and wished her sweet dreams as she did the same for him. Shiro went up to the bridge to run diagnostics on the castle's weapon system, while a weird energy seemed to be drawing Jellal down to one of the castle's large hangars.
The bluenette got up and followed the energy straight to the center hangar of the castle, and upon entering, saw right there in front of him, standing almost as tall as the guildhall itself, The Black Lion of Voltron. He immediately felt a strange connection with the mechanical lion standing before him. Jellal slowly walked up to it, and was a bit surprised as it bowed its head. Jellal hesitantly reached for the lion's nose, then jumped, hearing a voice behind. "I see you found the Black Lion, or more like she found you," Shiro chuckled slightly, a gentle smile on his face, "Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you."
"Oh no, your fine, I just felt a strong magic power source emanating from somewhere onboard and I wanted to figure out where it was originating from," Jellal replied, "Well, I guess I found the answer," he looked up at the Lion now kneeling before him, as he turned to face the Black Paladin.
"Well, from what she's telling me right now, I think she likes you," Shiro said.
"Wait, you have a connection with her too?"
"Yes, it's a mental connection, all in your head."
"Wow," Jellal whispered, looking back and forth between Shiro and the Black Lion for a few moments, before pulling himself together.
"The lion obviously believes you have lots of great potential, and would be a great paladin." Shiro said with confidence in his husky voice.
"What me?" Jellal asked, slightly skeptical.
"Of course, let me show you something." Shiro said, holding out his hand to Jellal. The heavenly body mage took Shiro's hand and let the Black Paladin guide his hand towards the Black Lion's nose. Once Jellal's hand touched the Black Lion's nose, the blue haired mage felt an immediate surge of magic power as both his eyes and his tattoo began to glow blue, while the same color aura completely surrounded his body. Jellal saw flashes of him fighting with none other than Acnologia, the Arcane Dragon, but he himself, looked different than he would in his reality. He saw that he was wearing an outfit that seemed to be a mix between his outfit's design and the Voltron Paladin's armor. There was also an immensely powerful energy surrounding his body as he fought, with his reflexes seeming to be a lot faster than they used to be back in Fiore.
The future memories disappeared just as quickly as they had appeared and Jellal quickly came back to reality. Taking his hand off the Black Lion's nose, he repositioned it to his forehead, "What just happened, ngh..." Jellal groaned, feeling a bit dizzy as he stumbled, luckily Shiro was there to catch him before he hit the floor, "Woah there, easy now." Jellal looked up at the Black Paladin as they both sat down and leaned up against the Black Lion's snout.
"Thank you," he said, with a small smile, feeling his eyes grow heavy, letting out a yawn.
"Tired are we?" Shiro asked, smirking playfully.
Jellal chuckled tiredly, "Yeah *yawning*," "Come here, lean on me."
Shiro said, holding his right arm out. Jellal gave him a look and Shiro blushed, facepalming, "That came out wrong, God I'm so sorry."
Jellal laughed at this, which caused Shiro to chuckle after a few seconds of hearing Jellal's laughing. "It's okay, I'm perfectly fine with using you as a pillow." Jellal said as he unclipped his long cloak and used it as a make-shift blanket, cuddling up to Shiro and drifting off to sleep. After a few minutes, Shiro himself started to get sleepy and started to nod off.
Mm... so tired, but I got to keep an eye on Jellal. Shiro thought, trying desperately to stay awake. Don't worry my paladin, I will keep watch over you came the Black Lion's voice in Shiro's head. Shiro looked up at the lion and smiled, suddenly hearing a quiet, "Thank You," from Jellal, who was now fast asleep. And with that, Shiro closed his eyes and drifted off as well.
Prince of the Stars / Chapter 6
Surprise Surprise
The Paladins, Galran Prince, and the two wizards we're all gathered in the lounge area of The Castle of Lions. Most of the Paladins we're chatting quietly about the two new guests who had just boarded the ship. Keith and Lance we're speculating on how the bluenette and scarlet redhead had gotten here, while Hunk and Pidge wondered about how the wizard's technology worked.
"I wonder if he came from an alternative reality." Keith said, his voice slightly above a whisper.
"Or maybe, he's secretly Shiro's twin brother in disguise." Lance said in a slightly louder tone, catching the bluenette's attention. This earned the Cuban boy a harsh elbow to the stomach.
"Ow, Quiznak Keith!"
"Who are you two talking about? I have absolutely no idea who this... Shiro is." the bluenette said, confusion lacing his voice, "And why would 'I' be his brother if I'm not even from here?"
"Sounds like I should introduce myself," came a husky voice, catching all three of the men's attention.
A young man, slightly taller than Keith and Lance walked over and took a seat next to the bluenette. He had a tuft of white hair hanging down slightly in his face, a facial scar covering his nose, and handsome masculine features.
"Hi, I'm Shiro, Paladin of the Black Lion and the Leader of Voltron, can you tell us your name?" Shiro asked, his voice polite, extending his hand to the blue haired man sitting next to him. The bluenette complied, obeying the Black Paladin's request, and gave everyone his name.
"JELLAL?!" Lance practically screamed, earning him a slap upside the head from Keith.
"Lance, stop screaming like an idiot," Keith said, irritatingly.
"I'm not an idiot, your the idiot, mullet," Lance shot back at the raven haired teen. "Don't call me mullet," Keith said, glaring slightly at the Cuban teenager.
"Alright that's enough out of both of you!" Shiro cut in, his authoritive voice, startling Jellal slightly.
"Sorry, didn't mean to startle you like that," Shiro lowered his voice as he turned back to Jellal, and continued his conversation with the bluenette.
"Okay, I'm confused, you practically screamed my name, why?" Jellal asked, looking at Lance with a confused look on his face.
"Your practically the most powerful Heavenly Body Mage in all of Fiore, that's so awesome!" The Blue Paladin explained excitedly.
"What? *chuckles* Your kidding right?" Jellal said, a bit skeptical of what he'd just heard, "I wouldn't be so sure about that, I mean, I'm not that powerful." he said, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Hey, take a compliment, stop being so gloomy," Jellal looked over and saw his beautiful wife Erza, "Brighten up, besides you have me, if anything else." she said, taking Jellal's face into her hands as she pulled her husband into a passionate kiss.
"Ooooh, wow okay," Shiro said, turning his face away, blushing slightly.
The kiss lasted roughly a minute and the two pulled back, pressing their foreheads together, gazing into each other's eyes.
"Love you, Honey," Erza whispered, just loud enough for everyone to hear, as she caressed her husband's tattooed cheek.
"Love you too, babe," Jellal murmured back, blushing slightly.
"Wait a minute... honey?" Lotor suddenly butted in, catching both Jellal's and Erza's attention.
Jellal looked at his beautiful wife, then back at the Prince and smirked, "Oops, I guess I forgot to mention that..." he shrugged before looking back at Erza, "...I'm married," and with that said, the blue haired mage pulled his wife in for yet another passionate kiss.
Prince of the Stars | Chapter 5
Voltron meets FairyTail
While Jellal sat on one of the cots that Ezor and Axca had brought in, Lotor was busy piloting the shuttle towards the planet that said "Voltron" was located. Jellal was trying to keep his mind off the pain in his thigh, though it was hard to keep himself distracted.
Ngh! Why am I in so much pain? He thought to himself, Is it because I'm in another reality? The pain flared up again, causing Jellal to groan in pain.
"Agh!" He moaned, clutching his wounded thigh, a look of pain plastered on his face.
"Are you gonna be alright?" He heard Axca's voice, then felt a hand on his shoulder. The mage looked up and saw the galran woman kneeling next to him, holding what seemed to be a pouch with water in it.
"Here, drink some water, you look like your about to keel over." Axca said, handing him the pouch.
"Thank You," He replied wearily.
---------------------------------------
Prince Lotor's space shuttle managed to slip through countless asteroid fields and blasted hundreds of flying comets with the shuttle's weapons. The passengers inside were a bit shaken up due to 'evasive manuvers', but they were okay. The ship's UPS System (Universal Positioning System) finally announced that they were nearing their destination, planet Trigoch.
The shuttle descended into the planet's atmosphere, scanning the area below with the long range scanners. They were looking for a specific structure, a castle to be exact. After a few minutes of flying around, the long range scanners picked up exactly what Prince Lotor was looking for.
"Sir, our scanners have picked up on the Castle of Lion's signature." (A way of saying that the scanners have picked up the Castle's signal)
Once they touched down near the castle, Prince Lotor helped Jellal as they both deboarded the ship. The mage was limping, but he could still walk just fine. A group of people were standing at the entrance of the castle. Jellal didn't recognize any of these people, except for one. It was a woman with long Scarlet red hair, who was dressed in mostly armor. She locked eyes with Jellal and smiled, as she began to make her way over to him.
"Erza, I'm so sorry I-" He began, but was gently shushed by the Scarlet haired woman.
"It's okay, just as long as your okay, that's all I could ever want." She caressed his cheeks and gazed into his dark brown eyes.
A woman can forward to greet them, "I'm Princess Allura and these are the Paladins of Voltron. I'm assuming you've met Prince Lotor?" She asked.
"Yes ma'am I have, ngh!" Jellal groaned and clutched his injured thigh, before collapsing to the ground.
"Oh-no! Your hurt, let me help you." The Princess knelt down next to him while the paladins gathered around. She looked at Erza, who gave her a determined nod of approval. The altean princess then looked at the blue haired mage.
"Okay, this might hurt a little," she said before concentrating her energy on Jellal's wounded thigh.
A sharp pain began shooting up and down his leg. He squeezed his eyes shut and grit his teeth, "Ngh," he then felt a gentle hand on his shoulder and looked up, seeing Erza smiling gently. He gave a weak smile before biting his lip as the worst of the pain gripped him, "Augh-hah!"
"I'm so sorry, I know it hurts, I'm almost done." The Princess said and her energy glowed even brighter while the wound completely healed.
Jellal sighed and took the princess's hand in his and thanked her.
"I'm glad I was able to help, now let's head inside." she said with a smile.
Prince of the Stars | Chapter 4
Escaping the Beast
Jellal headed for the bay Area, activating his atmospheric magic. He bypassed the locking system using his magic just like he'd done up on the bridge. As the doors opened, he shot out of the ship using his meteor spell and went straight for the beast gravitating above the ship.
Meanwhile, inside the ship on the bridge, Lotor and his generals were trying to figure out how to get the ship back on course.
"Zethrid, get on the blasters, we might need to give Jellal some extra support." Lotor said, watching as Jellal went back and forth with the beast. It seemed he knew what he was doing, because the beast suddenly lunged and Jellal zipped out of the way just in time.
Jellal, are you okay?
Yes, I'm fine,' the mage replied, 'But please stay out of this link, this thing can also hear you.
Why? It's just you and me. The Prince thought.
No, it's not, this thing has telepathic abilities just like I do.
What? Prince Lotor finally realized, but it was too late, the beast had heard everything.
So, you two are working together huh? All the more reason to kill you both!
Jellal dodged as the beast lunged at him again, but this time it managed to sink it's claw into his thigh, which earned the ugly thing an agonizing scream from the Heavenly Body mage.
Without thinking, they all screamed out his name, "JELLAL!"
But the Heavenly Body Mage wasn't going down without a fight. He put both hands up and blasted the creature with a weaponized beam of pure heavenly light, knocking it back a couple hundred feet. This gave Jellal time to ready one of his bigger spells, but he'd have to get some distance from the ship.
"Prince Lotor," He said aloud through the telepathic link, "I'm going to use one of my bigger spells, but I need to keep some distance between me and the ship!"
"Understood, we're trying to get the ship back on course." The Prince replied back.
Jellal cut the link again and put his arms together in the classic positioning with his left hand spread out and his other hand holding out two fingers and began to cast the spell, "May the seven stars bring judgment upon you," As he said those words, a weird sensation enveloped his body, but he brushed it off, there were bigger threats to deal with right now, "GRAND CHARIOT!" Jellal screamed at the top of his lungs, casting the spell upon the ugly creature, watching as it slammed into it with full force.
To Jellal's surprise, the spell actually did some damage. He then forced himself to snap out of it.
That beast is not gonna stay back for long. He thought to himself as he bolted for the ship, making it inside just in time as another blast from the beast's mouth came racing at them.
Once they'd past through the wormhole, Lotor ran down to the bay Area where he'd seen Jellal take off from in order to keep the ugly beast at bay. When he reached the bay Area, he spotted the bluenette kneeling by the cargo bay doors, clutching his right thigh, his face twisted with pain.
"Jellal, are you okay?" Lotor called from across the room as he ran over to the injured man.
"Agh, I'm alright for now," Jellal had torn off a piece of his long blue cloak and wrapped it around his bleeding thigh, "But this injury needs medical attention and fast."
"I believe I know someone who can help you, Jellal." The Prince said with a smirk.
Now it was Jellal's turn to give the confused look.
"Axca, contact Voltron."
Prince of the Stars | Chapter 3
New Encounters
Now that Jellal was freed, he was allowed to come up to the bridge of the ship."
So, who is this Erza you speak of? Can you please explain a little bit about her? " Prince Lotor asked.
Jellal turned to face the Galran Prince, "She is known as 'Tatania' Queen of the Fairies, but we simply call her Erza."Lotor listened intently.
"She has many armors she can choose from, all at the tips of her fingers, thanks to her Requip-Magic." Jellal explained.
"Requip-Magic?" Lotor questioned.
"Yes, it's what allows her to rapidly swap her armors and equip herself with dangerous weapons, mostly swords."
"Wow, I wish I had that kind of power." Zethrid butted in.
"I'll tell you this, she is one of a kind."Jellal sighed and turned to look back at the stars."Her magic also allows her to swap into regular clothes without even having to touch them." Jellal added.
"Hm, very interesting," Axca commented."She will also threaten anyone who threatens her guildmates." The bluenette said once more.Jellal continued explaining about his badass girlfriend, while Lotor and his generals listened eagerly. Then there was a rumble and the ship lurched to one side.
"Pull up the cameras from outside on the screen." The Prince ordered, and Zethrid immediately put it up on the screen, eager to see what was attacking the ship.
Jellal gasped when he saw what was on the screen, "We need to leave now!"
"Why, we can just blast a hole in it with the ship's weapons." Zethrid said.
"No," Jellal said in a firm voice, "This thing is a hell of a lot more powerful than you will ever begin to imagine!"
He activated one of his many spells, bypassing the ship's safety mechanisms and opened a wormhole. Then the ship was struck with some sort of weaponized light beam.
"No, it knocked out most of our weapon systems and it's knocked off one of the stabilizers." Ezor said, panic lacing her voice.
"NGH! I don't think so you beast." Jellal muttered to himself before he looked over to the Prince and signaled him.
"Prince Lotor, I need you and your generals to keep the ship steady. I'm gonna distract that thing and give us time to escape." He said.
"Hey," Jellal turned around in response to the Prince's voice, "Be careful,"Jellal nodded to the Prince, and rushed down to the cargo bay Area of the ship.
The mage activated another one of his many spells and created his own atmosphere that encased his whole body. The bay doors opened, and Jellal flew out of the bay Area at light speed and readied himself to battle with the ugly beast that was attacking the ship.
