Princess Link: Engaged to my sister's kidnapper??? by @sparknotespsps
Romance Fantasy | Teen | AO3 | Ongoing
Synopsis: Princess Zelda has gone missing and Link is asked to take her place in order to keep the peace and preserve their relations. The Princess was due to be engaged to the Gerudo prince, aka the prime suspect in her disappearance. Oh shit and he's hot….
This is cute! Link is quiet and awkward, so he's suddenly got the worst job: pretending to be Princess Zelda in public, navigating his own growing opinions on the situation (including Ganon who, uh oh, is hot) as well as wanting to do right by Zelda, who is both the princess and his dear friend. Zelda herself is an interesting one, whose whereabouts I look forward to finding out more about in due course. There's plenty more story to play out here and I'm going to enjoy following it. - Karama9
The title alone clues you into what this story is going to be about, but it is so enchanting. Link, a common stablehand is roped into posing as Zelda when she is kidnapped. She’s arranged to be married to we all know who, and Link is falling…hard. It is a work-in-progress so I’m afraid we will be on pins and needles waiting to see the full outcome of a charade I fear may turn heartbreakingly bad. - Mistress Lrigtar
Political intrigue, a missing princess, and cute courtly flirting? What's not to like? This story still feels early in and there are a lot of plot threads to unravel still, but the mystery has me excited for more. - amelias-hart
More fan banners! Did these yesterday for some folks.
Princess Link: Engaged to my sister's kidnapper??? by @sparknotespsps (The ancient Hylian is the tagline [Google] translated into Korean and then put back into the font to try and get that manhwa vibe)
The second is a name I gave @hummbirds / @humm-draws's collection of OCs based on her lore and her being a fan of FE since she doesn't currently have a title. In particular, was using this character for inspiration.
Y'all should check out both of these folks, they're both very talented creators.
I’m working on two more Sidlink fics now! :) Both are twists on two quite different fairy tales.
One is based on “The Little Mermaid” (both the original and the Disney) which I know has been done before, but that doesn’t mean it’s not still fun! Also, I don’t think the characters’ motivations in that fairy tale are that great, so I’m throwing in Majora for the sea-witch and some moon-falling action to drive the plot forward. For that reason, it’s more serious than my other, more whimsical one.
The other is based on Italo Calvino’s “Crab Prince,” which is a really enjoyable fairy tale I wish I had known about when I was younger. No, it’s not like “The Frog Prince.” But it is about a really neat and determined princess who actually does stuff to break the curse on the prince.
Writing is always a challenge, but that doesn’t mean it’s not fun! Here’s hoping it continues to go well. :)
Some pages from a Legend of Zelda thing I started writing yesterday for reasons. This is it in the Notes app. And as many stories I've written recently, this fic is a bit about my fears for our world. Heads up, there is a one year time skip between the first four pages and the last two. The first four pages I'm viewing as a prologue, just to set up some of the plot. Tagging @thefingerfuckingfemalefury since I showed you my prior transgender! Link fics, and this is gonna be about her reincarnation, who has a crush on a cute Zora girl. Also tagging @akirakan and @jogress because you two are my besties. No pressure to read obviously, but you know, if you want to this is here.
Hello, time for another Legend of Zelda fic. This one follows my earlier story, and shows a Legend of Zelda Timeline that diverged from the Adult Timeline. So basically its a dieselpunk version of the Great Sea, contrasting with the steam-powered New Hyrule. Its a very short story, so maybe consider taking a look? Its all about a female Link and Medli, as they just have a day in the city of Dragon Roost. Again I wrote this in two days, so sorry if it seems a bit unpolished compared to my other stuff; basically Breath of the Wind exploded over my dash and I had to write a quick little Zelda fic.
(side note, Link is a trans girl in this, represented by the above image of Triforce Heroes Link in the Legendary Dress)
The story will be below the cut, but before the cut I will be posting the link to the google document of the story, along with the link to the story that takes place right before it in my Timeline. That way if you need background on this Link and her world, you can look it up. Just be aware the earlier story is nearly four times as big this fic, so be prepared. Also trigger warning for slurs, so if that stresses you be prepared.
The Sage and the Princess
Setting Course (Google Doc)
And now, here is the post for Setting Course:
Setting Course
Medli stretched her wings, the feathers stretching over her hands. From her beak to her yellow feet, her synthetic body was incredible, and she appreciated it. But even then, sometimes she felt nostalgic for her old body, before she was a ghost possessing a home-grown body. But she was immortal, that was a lot better fate than most people received.
Green stared at her, the Rito Medli was beautiful, from her long ponytail to her bird-like features. And she was the only thing remotely familiar to Green here.
Behind Medli was a humming city of iron, her home of Dragon Roost. Monorails rushed through the skies on their tracks, whole buildings hovered on artificial islands, magnetized to float. It was almost like Green's home of Skyloft, only metallic and grey.
The city rested over s volcano, pipes oozing heat from the core of the mountain pumped into all sorts of buildings, fueling them. The monorails were like giant dragons, but just with their reptilian designs, but their steaming frames, and their whipping motions through the sky.
Rito flew from platform to platform, their wings launching them over the gaps. Over here in the Democratic Great Sea the Rito dominated the isles, the most common race. Therefore there were few bridges to link their homes, since they could all fly.
Green depended on Medli here, to carry her. It was ... actually nice, having someone who trusted her. Her own people had been getting better, some of them stopped calling Hreen a "shemale," but Green was almost happy to be gone from her Timeline. They didn't deserve to know her.
"You okay?" Medli interrupted. Green nodded, and Medli continued, "I know my Timeline is ... strange."
Green grinned silently. She couldn't speak verbally, it was too hard. Green was Autistic, and in her case talking was difficult. But she could communicate alright, and Medli listened.
There was a rush, as a monorail blasted by them. Green held down her dress, as wind rushed into her. She wore white and pink, with a gold necklace and golden bracelets. The whole outfit was a gift from Medli, and the bracelets alone were technological wonders, far beyond Green's world.
One of the golden bands would extend into a shield, allowing Green to bash monsters and block attacks. The other was like a grappling hook, only it used the Rito's mastery of magnetism to let Green scale a tower in a matter of seconds.
Green stumbled as another train went by, and Medli steadied here. "Easy," the immortal Rito held her friend, "be careful. Your Bracelet will catch you, but still."
Green nodded. They were both on a metal platform, forged of metal and nearly barren. It like so many others hovered in the air, a product of the Rito's brand of science and magic. It overlooked the track, which carried cargo and the sick from platform to platform, like a communal cart almost.
While the heat of the volcano fueled the Rito, they also used this living goo, which generated energy. They used it as batteries, and it regenerated over time. But it had its limits, and if Dragon Roost was built over a volcano, it only made sense for them to use it.
"We used to rely on coal," Medli interrupted again, "it is a long story, but a steamship sailed into our ocean. It was studied and replicated by the Hylians of my timeline, and they gave us the tech. It led to our industrial boom, and it helped them create their own kingdom again."
New Hyrule lay far across the ocean, and relied on steam to power its airships, ironclads and locomotives. Medli described it as boiling water and using the force of the steam to push. She had been there when the steamship was discovered, and though she denied it, she understood the tech better than she felt. New Hyrule used steam engines to this day, they had not obtained the magnetism technology of the Rito, and that was deliberate. The Rito could be distrusting of Hylians, at least Hylian royalty and soldiers.
"Eh," Green pointed to the Lobster. Lobsters were not only crustaceans, they were a type of airship used by the Rito, a large bulky metal hovering thing with harpoon-claws and more goo batteries. They were fairly self sufficient, and they were used for cargo and for defending the DGS from sea monsters and pirates.
"Yeah, it would have had trouble flying if it ran on coal," She smiled warmly, "it would be too heavy."
She looked away suddenly as an alarm flashed. "Another storm," Medli sighed. Green tightened, rubbing her head. She could hear screams. The Rito were already landing, some seeking shelter, and the monorails were clamping onto their tracks.
Green's timeline had been wiped from existence, only she was spared, not even her father survived. Medli's world was in a similar danger; the so called Rito Timeline was almost being ripped apart by a chaotic force. Medli called the force a sickness, and the Rito's magnetism was the cure. The DGS had protected their whole ocean as well as New Hyrule, even as everywhere outside of their borders faded into a typhoon of energy.
The storms still plagued both the Great Sea and New Hyrule. Distortions caused as the rim of the shielded areas stirred up the air, snowballing until a great storm erupted. They spent through both lands, and it left both countries to build storm shelters in all their settlements, no matter how small.
Medli held Green, clutching her to keep the Hylian steady. The girl held on, as Medli supported her. Green let her older friend, but she kept her own feet on the ground. Green was strong, beautiful but ready to fight.
The platform swayed slightly, while a cyclone of wind ripped towards the island. It tossed water like a lapped tongue, spraying it in an artificial rain. It plowed through the waves, skimming the edge of Dragon Roost. Green clutched her pointed ears now, the sound was blasting into her.
Lobsters flew towards the cyclone, firing bursts of magnetism into it. Green didn't understand the point, it made her blush. She wasn't stupid, she just, she could forge a sword, she could get in a brawl, but the transgender youth had no idea the principles behind this magnetic strike, no matter how often Medli explained. It made Green feel crappy. All she knew was after a series of blasts, the storm dissipated.
Medli held Green secure, her wings cocooning the Hylian girl. Medli was a lover, but not romantically, she cared for all. Green could tell easily that Medli was a mother at heart, it was ... it was nice to have a woman care for her.
Finally Medli released, and Green caught the last of the storm vanish. The monorail began to unclamp itself from its track, and started to resume circling the island.
Green wasn't sure if it was the volcanic air, but Dragon Roost smelled like a forge, dusty and uncomfortably hot. Green had been raised in a blacksmith shop, she knew the trade, but it didn't interest her.
The two had come out today because it was the anniversary of when Medli had landed on Skyloft, searching for the Loft Tonic that had fallen to Green's world. It was dangerous stuff, mutated Hylians into bird-like hybrids. Green and Medli had worked together to stop Skyloft's local conman from selling the stuff, before the Rito had left to report to her people.
Green looked to Medli, and swooped her arms in a circle. She stopped, and the spun her hands inside the border of where her arms had reached. She had drawn a circle, with two objects inside.
"Us?"
Green shook her head no.
"The Great Sea and New Hyrule?"
Green nodded, then did the circle motion again. This time the circle shrunk, until she made a small ball.
"Are you worried our barrier will shrink?" Medli kneeled to Green. Green nodded, the Great Sea and New Hyrule both were massive, how could the Rito maintain them.
"Our Chu Chu batteries can handle the load," she promised, "And our scientists are improving them every day. We are going to be okay. I just, sorry about-"
Green shook her head, she though she understood where Medli was trailing off too. Green, she ... she missed her dad, and he was getting better, but Skyloft, Green was fine without that hateful place that had attacked her at every turn.
A hero fought monsters, and Green had been doing that for years before she had met Medli.
"Okay," Medli nodded, "I, okay. But we are going to hold."
Green tilted her head, asking how.
"We ... We have some knowledge of other timelines, it's how I met you. We understand physics, reality, we can travel to other ones. I guess I told you that already. But we have a way to save us, one other than the barrier. I can show you."
Green nodded, and Medli led her down the platform, before pointing over a gap. Green activated her bracelets, one becoming her shield, the other her beetle-like magnetic hook. She fired it, latching on to a nearby roof on another platform. Suddenly Green lurched through the air, before tapping on the next floating isle.
Medli glided up, landing besides Green. "Just to let you know," Medli warned, "It's kind of a secret. So keep it between us. Unless it becomes important, but you know that."
Green nodded, before hooking way further along in the direction Medli had aimed for. Until finally they reached a large platform, still under construction.
Medli, held Green back suddenly, "Careful. I think the Storm scared the workers off. I should have known, sorry, this might be bad, I should have shown you this already. Just, be prepared for anything."
Was this dangerous? Green's question was answered almost instantly, as a bubble popped into existence in front of them. Not the skull headed monster, just a bubble like you might find coming from a diver. It was translucent, bent light around it, and was the size of Green herself.
"Be careful," Medli whispered. Even as she spoke there was a tapping sound, as five Rito dressed in scarab armor tapped down behind her.
"Nayru above, I thought we shut it down in time," One of them muttered, "before launching a electric net. The net latched around the bubble, sizzling into it. Green stared, what was so bad about a bubble.
"Medli," a Rito turned to her, "do you think, um, could you go?"
"Right, that would be best, Green, I will explain it elsewhere..." Medli winced as Green approached the bubble. It was, it was so strange looking to Green...
The bubble shook, and started to squeeze a strain. Green stumbled back, and another net fired into the bubble. "Get back kid," a Rito shouted, "you are exciting the bubble!"
Green scrambled away, even as the bubble shook and stretched. The Hylian pointed at the shape, and then looked to Medli.
"This building is built on a fault-line between our timeline and two others," Medli answered, staring at the trembling bubble, "we've been - ugh I should have thought this through, I'm so sorry - we've been using this border to study the stuff that makes up up healthy timelines, timelines that aren't decaying. And our prying been making tiny pocket dimensions, little bubbles in reality. We've collected hundreds, and they don't decay, not at all. So we are now working to use the rip to create a bubble around the Great Sea. We have another in New Hyrule, when they are both done we can engulf both our homes in bubbles, linked through their rims. And unlike our broken timeline, our new homes will last. At least, that's the gist of it."
Medli blushed, and Green gazed at the bubble. A tiny bubble of reality? How did that-
The bubble began to shrink, tightening, reducing, parts growing thinner, stretching into a new shape. The net tightened around this new shape, even as bubble grew appendages. They shortened, the bubble twisted and pulled, until a translucent soapy Hylian appeared in its place. A Hylian who looked just like Green.
"How?" Medli looked to one of the Rito.
"Green is the survivor of a dead timeline, of an abandoned continuum. She, seems to distort the space by the fault line, impressing the rip-"
The specter suddenly aimed her hand, and get bubble bracelet launched across to another rooftop. The bubble flew away, ripping free of the net and bounding across the platforms.
Green didn't hesitate. Whatever this bubble was, she being here had formed it, and it had escaped because of her it was her responsibility. She aimed her bracelets and launched away, after her bubble clone.
The clone hooked a building, vaulting herself into the air, before firing at a temple to the Golden Goddesses. It ripped away from its current arc, before tumbling into the roof. It fired again, even as Green rolled behind it.
Green aimed, before being flung into the air. The clone was traveling down the floating magnetized platforms of Dragon Roost, swinging and vaulting across. Green didn't know what its plan was, what it wanted, but she had to stop it.
Green spotted the bubble clone siting on a monorail, and took aim. She fired, before being ripped clean through the sky after the magnetic train. She stumbled onto the track-
Boom.
The clone rammed Green with its bracelet shield. Its face broke into a large grin, giggling even as Green plummeting off the monorail.
Green twisted in the air, before aiming at a platform to the left and below her. She hooked the platform, and swung at it, breaking the force of her fall, letting her land safely in a tumble.
Green straightened her dress, before looking up. What was she supposed to do? And what did this clone want? It was still laughing at her, giggling as she whipped across the monorail track.
It was a clone of Green right? It was made in Green's image. So maybe, maybe it was like her? Had some twisted version of Green's own desires.
Medli seemed to think that too, she had swooped shakily into the monorail, and was speaking to the bubble clone. Green couldn't hear her friend's words over the rush of the city. They didn't seem to work anyway, as the monster was advancing on to the Rito, swinging its shield at Medli. Medli was unharmed, at least for now, but the clone was still trying to strike her.
Green pointed her hand to a higher roof, and latched her weapon to it. She flew as she reeled herself in, before catching onto the monorail again. She tensed up as it whipped her around, until she managed to land on it in a roll.
Immediately the bubble clone stopped swiping at Medli, staring as Green. It began to advance, unbothered by the speed of the monorail. Green stumbled, trying to keep balance, while she tried to thrust out her shield bracelet in the direction of her clone.
Green aimed with her hook bracelet at her clone as it advanced, while she blocked her body with her shield. Suddenly she fired, latching onto her clone's shield. It jerked her into her clone, letting Green bash with her shield.
The shield was a skeletal thing, to retract from the bracelet it was made up of only three curved golden limbs. However magnetism hummed in the gaps, filling in the shield's gaps with the Rito mix of magic and science. It was charged to reflex metal at least, and against its opposite...
The clone smacked into the shield, before being sent flying from the blow. It tumbled and crashed off the monorail, before banging into a nearby platform.
Green took aim, and hooked her way down. She landed in a skid on the platform, her legs happy to be on solid ground. Behind her Medli glided, landing besides Green.
"She kept laughing," Medli explained, "she was giggling in a form of Old Hylian, but I think she declaring she was 'free.' That or she was saying that was Cucco, the words as similar in that dialect, and in the context..."
Green nodded, and planted herself in front of Medli. Cucco were farm fowl, white chubby birds that were raised for their meat and eggs. They were a common export of New Hyrule, traveling by ship in exchange for Outset Pigs, or things like Picto Boxes. It was ... unlikely that this clone would call itself a flightless bird.
The clone pulled itself up, its face in a scowl. It charged, ramming at Green. Green blocked, and both of them were flung backwards from the blow, Green nearly off of the platform.
Green recovered, as Medli blocked the clone with her wings. The bubble clone slammed into Medli, trying to knock her back, but her blows only made the Rito wince.
Green charged, ducking under her friend's wings to slam her shield into the clone's gut. The clone staggered from the blow, leaving Green to charge, knocking the clone further back.
The clone began to chant something, as Green bashed it. It wasn't a word Green knew, so she bet it was the phrase that Medli had heard. That the clone was free.
It wasn't a perfect reflection of Green, if this clone could so easily chant. Although Green had repetitive actions that calmed herself down sometimes, maybe this was like that. But the clone had been laughing.
Though nervous laughter was a thing.
Green stop advancing, and tensed up to block. The clone was still stumbling from the last strike, but quickly moved to smack Green. Green's shield absorbed the strike, as Green stared at her clone. She tilted her head, then shrugged, before quickly holding up her shield in case her clone attacked.
The bubble stared at Green, tilting its head back. Green repeated the gesture, shrugging then pointing with her unblocking hand at the clone. The clone pointed at itself, and Green nodded.
The clone kept its shield up, as her free fingers flailed. It tightened them into a fist, and swung the fist around, until it opened itself up. Two of its fingers rested as imitations of legs, two as approximations of arms, and one mimicking a head.
Green nodded, and pointed to the clone's hand, then the clone itself. The clone nodded, before making her hand dance and scurry, while she was smiling and changing that ancient word. She was definitely not chanting "Cucco" at this point. It was almost definitely "free."
Green nodded, okay then, the clone wanted to be free. That was why it had struck Green when she chased it, and why it had run from the platform it had formed from. Okay, fine. But that didn't answer everything.
Green tilted her head, shrugged, then made her hand dance, and then shrugged again. Hopefully the clone understood. But she did seem to resemble Green more than just physically.
The bubble clone made a fist, swung it around, before clasping its spread out hand around it. The clone's shield was still extended, but she was busy using that hand.
Okay, if the circle meant a bubble...
Green held up a finger, and drew in the air a crisscross pattern. The clone nodded.
"Because they met you?" Medli walked up, then bowed, "I am so sorry Ms. Bubble, we didn't realize you were alive and aware while you were a bubble. Were the other bubbles we collected your friends?"
The bubble shrugged, and then Medli lightly slapped her face. "Of course, sorry," Medli admitted, before speaking in something like Old Hylian.
As Medli spoke the bubble clone briefly held up her shield, but still listen. Slowly she lowered her weapon, before nodding to the Rito.
Green stepped to the side, letting Medli walk up beside her. Medli could speak this language, or something like it, she needed to be in front.
Medli spoke to the clone, her wings retracted back so she could gesture more easily. The clone nodded every so often, it seemed like Medli repeated herself occasionally, but the clone would also sometimes make a series of gestures. But without the context...
"Okay," Medli turned to Green, "I have told her about our plan to create the bubble. She is interested, and is willing to help us, as long as we stop imprisoning the bubbles."
Green tilted, pointing at the clone. What was it?
"Well, from what I heard from our scientists the bubbles were little pocket dimensions, like tiny realities. Sorta like a Timeline. Though if they are intelligent..."
Medli turned to the creature and told Green, "I ... I need to check something." She spoke something. There was a silence, so gently but firmly repeated herself. The bubble nodded finally, and she swung to look at Green."
"She says she is a shard of your timeline."
Green stared at her bubble clone. A ... a piece of her Timeline? A bubble was a piece of Green's reality. Where Hyrule never formed, and the Hylians stayed atop the floating isles of Skyloft, riding their Loftwings to travel? But how? Were there tiny islands in this bubble. Green strained to look, she couldn't see anything inside the clone...
"Sorry I can't explain it better," Medli blushed, before she spoke to the clone again. More gestures followed, before Medli returned to Green.
"She says she can't reassemble into the timeline. But she ... she might be able to bring your Skyloft into my world. And that bringing it here might stabilize our timeline."
At this point Green realized other Rito were here, the ones who had been at the site, and a small crowd as well. Green swallowed, tightening. She was strong, she could handle this.
She winced suddenly as a monorail rushed past, its cargo creaking. Green swallowed again, and walked to her clone. The clone stepped back, Green was staring very intently. Then Green put her hand on the clone, clasping their hands together. Green squeezed back and forth, like a pulse, tightening both hands.
The bubble clone stared at Green, who let go of its hand. "We?" The bubble clone asked, speaking with strain. Green nodded.
It double-checked, "f-f-f-feel?"
Green nodded, Medli was still talking to the other Rito, she trusted Green to handle the bubble clone. And Green was definitely handling the clone.
Green wanted a change in Skyloft. Too many were too cruel, too hateful. And if that was all it was, Green won't care. But there were other races on the surface, Medli had told him how other creatures lived below Skyloft. And Green's father was trying, now that he knew Green was a girl. And those two other children were being friendly.
Green understood the bubble wanted freedom, not to be forced, captured, molded. Fine. Green wanted that to. And even if the brown skinned Rito were a bit distrusting of the paler Hylians, they were good about that. Point was, Green didn't really want the anger of her "fellow" Hylians back.
So she wanted empathy. That all the Hylians of Skyloft be stabbed by a sensation of deep understanding and empathy towards Green. And the pocket reality/bubble clone understood that. And hopefully she could influence her fellow bubbles, so that when Skyloft was recreated they would less ... horrible.
There was a fluttering sound, Green turned to see the other Rito flying off, as Medli headed back to them.
"Sorry, they will return her friends," Medli told Green, before repeating the message in Old Hylian. The clone grinned, and flapped her arms. Green flapped too, before the clone embraced her, smiling in its faint translucent mouth.
Green pulled her - it - the clone, you know what it is made in Green's image - Green pulled her off, and then nodded in acceptance. The clone nodded too, and then pointed to Green, and stuttered to ask "N-n-n-n-name?"
"She's Green."
"N-n-n-name?" The clone tried again.
Green blushed, then glared. Green was ... Green was fine. A fine name. Girls could be called Green. There had been girls named Green in Skyloft other than Green herself. She ... she could keep her birth-name if it felt okay. She liked it, the green ground. She liked earth, to reach into dirt and squeezed it, to feel grass in her hands.
The clone blushed, and then looked up. She fired her bracelet, hooking her way up towards where the Rito had flown. Towards where her fellow bubbles were likely to be.
Green looked back to Medli, who was staring off at nothing in particular. Green laid her hand on Medli's shoulder, startling the immortal.
"What oh, oh sorry," Medli grinned, "sorry, got distracted. Um, so, you okay?"
Green shrugged, then nodded, letting out a soft smile. She was fine enough, it was a strange day, but she was okay. She pointed up to the monorail, and Medli dipped her head.
"Alright," Medli grinned, "Let's go back to view the city." Green aimed her bracelet up, before hooking her way into the sky, launching off the many hovering platforms and floating towers.
Medli flew after her, thinking. Would Green not like her name? Was that what the clone was saying? That wasn't Medli's place to check, her friend would tell her herself if she needed a change. There ... there was a nickname whispered among the Rito, given how noble she was, some had been called Green "Linkle," after the Hero of Winds that Medli had known back in her youth. Medli has checked with Green, she had been fine with the name. But ... Medli should think about this. Not confront Green obviously, but she would think about it.
Bio cards of the protagonists in my last two Legend of Zelda fan fictions. Medli also was the lead in earlier stories, but Green is only as old as the original Triforce Heroes announcement. But yeah, here are my leading ladies. Not sure when I'll upload the fic I wrote in two days, but I'll put on here at some point.
Its short, like 3,000 to 4,000 words, and it takes place in what I call “the Rito Timeline,” a continuity that branched off the Adult Timeline. I’ve written about it before, both when it splintered from the Adult Timeline, and an adventure Medli had almost 150 years after the events of the Wind Waker. (her predecessor became a ghost, so she did too) And both those stories can be found on tumblr, because that is where I post my work. One is split into chapters I believe, lots and lots of chapters.
I modeled it so that the the Rito civilization by the time of Spirit Tracks has become sorta dieselpunk, with monorails sprawled across Dragon Roost and magnetic platforms suspending homes around the mountain. Sort of a contrast to the steam driven land of New Hyrule, which in this version of reality uses airships and ironclads along with steam locomotives. They are allied nations, though trade is limited, because there is some distrust between the Hylians and the Rito.
So yeah, new story, but it is just a quick dip into my LoZ universe, not like a grand epic. I will post it here sometime, if I can think of a good day for it. So yeah, LoZ fic incoming.
