The girl was tiny, which made him feel rather good, actually. Ed hated being the shortest one in the crowd and this girl would make sure he avoided that fate. She had dark hair and eyes, looking like she might be from Xing. Oh god, hopefully she didn't eat like Ling Yao, Edward was low enough on cash as it was. "Are you looking for someone?" He decided to ask in the end. It wasn't like he knew much about the city himself but he felt the natural urge to assist people, especially when they looked as young and lost as this girl.

"Alphonse, your Amestrian fairy tales are so funny! The young lady loses a shoe, and then becomes a princess. What a scandal - to have the Prince see her bare feet and only then be interested--do you suppose she did it on purpose? To show off? Alphonse, do Amestrian women always expose their feet?"

Al laughed lightly at her interpretation of the story from his youth. "Not quite- although they are a little funny. No see, I think what that particular story is trying to say is that... is that true love will find a way. See, she and the prince were always meant to find each other, but they needed a little help finding their way. It's a little... silly, maybe, but I guess it's nice to think that if you're being torn away from your true love, fate will step in and give you the connection you need to live happily ever after."

He smiled politely at the girl, giving the question some serious thought.  "I'm afraid I don't know for sure, she never really spoke about it with me.  If you're curious, I could search through some records..."
