but then i figured that was unfair in some weird way so i put it on repeat and drew another one

headcanon that when rabbit has depressive slumps the spine always tries to cheer her up but hes not very good at the whole cheering people up thing but for rabbit just not being alone helps a lot

(part 2) she usually just ends up venting to him because hes a very good listener and she just talks about whatever is bothering her or whatevers on her mind if shes sad for no reason and he'll just listen and put one arm around her shoulder and shes told him most of her Deep Dark Secrets during these feel jams because she knows he'd never tell anyone and its one of the few times the spines habit of keeping secrets comes in handy

being so sad when she's usually so chipper is kind of scary for her and she just hates it

headcanon babybot the spine would spend a lot of time just listening to the inflections humans use when they talk because he hates his big scary monotone robot voice and he hates it and he tries SO HARD to teach himself how to verbal cues and body language

Iris starts to help him with picture books and momma pep talks

and rabbit tries to explain her system of equating certain cues to musical notes/phrases, people speaking is like a music in it's own with it's highs and lows

bots get turned human au!the spine is still prone to aches and pains and it sucks because human pain is way worse than simulated robot pain but also. humans get to have warm baths and heating pads and pain medication and humans get to lay on their backs without impaling the furniture

humans can also feel how soft and supporting the bed/couch is

headcanon that the reason the spine has snake-y mode is that if his main body ever got injured he could just retract from it and slither to go get help. unfortunately this means on more than one occasion his back has ached and so he instinctively goes into snakey mode without thinking and then remembers now hes literally just his back + head and so theyres a miserable snakey robot whos everything hurts rlly bad

also headcanon that pre regenderation six tried really hard to keep just how broken rabbit was a secret from the spine and rabbit since they were both already worried sick

headcanon that pre regederation upgrades when rabbit was basically falling apart she had to spend almost all of her time in the workshop having emergency repairs done and the spine would demand to visit her whenever possible even though everyone knows hes gets freaked out by the repairs room like a little kid getting freaked out at the doctors and the sight of rabbit laid out on a work bench with her "guts" exposed makes him woozy but he HAS to see his sister you dont understand
