A Wonderful Dream Come True | Cinderella & Fairy Godmother
An invitation from the palace had arrived just this morning. The Tremaine household was in chaos. Cinderella's stepsisters, Drizella and Anastasia, were frantically on the hunt for the perfect outfits.
Diligently, Cinderella scrubbed the foyer. Her stepmother had promised that she too would be able to attend the ball tonight if, and only if, she finished all of her household duties and was able to find something suitable to wear. Of course, Lady Tremaine would be sure to make the tasks nearly impossible for Cinderella to accomplish in time.
After finding a spare moment, Cinderella hurried to her room. The mice and the birds all gathered around her as she pulled her mother's old dress from the trunk beside her. True, it was in need of some alterations, but nothing that she couldn't handle. Just then the demanding shouts of her stepfamily rang in her ears. "Cinderelllllaaaa!!" They called. Cinderella put the dress down; she'd just have to finish it later.
Cinderella's mice friends knew there was no way she'd ever finish in time. So, they took it upon themselves to help. What a surprise it would be! Their beloved friend, Cinderella, would be so amazed. Whilst the mice and the birds were busy altering the dress, Cinderella continued on with her chores.
Later that night, after Cinderella had lost just about all hopes of attending the ball, her friends surprised her with the finished gown. She quickly got dressed and raced downstairs to catch her stepfamily before they left without her.
It was only moments later before Drizella and Anastasia had torn her mother's gown to shreds. With that, Cinderella ran into the backyard sobbing.
