Cathy Hiatt from The Last Five Years ENFP by Rebecca requested by @princessuncharming and anonymous
Extraverted Intuition (Ne) "I could wander Paris after dark, take a carriage ride through Central Park. But it wouldn't be as nice as a summer in Ohio, where I'm sharing a room with a "former" stripper and her snake: Wayne." Cathy presents herself as an energetic young woman who is ready to take whatever opportunities she can find. In "Climbing Uphill", her inner thoughts are revealed to be spinning and jumping from idea to idea as she attempts to make a good impression during her audition. She craves more than a simple life in a simple town and fully believes she will be able to find it with Jamie, shown in "I Can Do Better Than That". She tends to be optimistic about the future and sees that there are many good things that can happen. However, as things start to go wrong in her relationship, she finds herself beginning to find more doubt about life.
Introverted Feeling (Fi) "I will not be the girl who requires a man to get by!" Cathy has developed strong feelings about the world around her and how she wants to fit into it, and she tries to stay true to what she wants regardless of what happens throughout her life. She has dedicated herself to becoming an actress and this is a facet of her personality that she refuses to give up despite her struggles. She refuses to bend in most situations, which causes a feeling that she is self-centered and focused only on what she wants. Cathy dedicates herself to getting a job as an actress and supporting herself instead of relying on Jamie.
Extraverted Thinking (Te) No, Jamie, you do not have to go to another party with the same twenty jerks you already know." While Cathy usually uses her emotion first, she shows herself capable of viewing situations in a logical standpoint in order to back up her decisions made with her emotion first. She wants to find control within her life, and her problems with exercising control end up becoming a major problem with Jamie. She attempts to make plans to create her pathway to the stage, but as things never go the way she wants she finds a great amount of struggle. Facts are typically used to back up what she has already decided with her feelings, such as in "See, I'm Smiling" when she cries out against Jamie using the truths of their life to back up how she feels.
Introverted Sensing (Si) "I will never go back, never look back anymore." Whenever Cathy looks back, she tends to have a rather negative tinge to her memories whether it be her past relationships or thinking about Jamie in "Still Hurting". The ways of the past seem somewhat stifling to her, and she doesn't want to get stuck in a routine like she has seen happen for other people. She talks about this in "I Can Do Better Than That" where she believes she can escape the past and move on with Jamie. She also reveals that she refuses to become a typical housewife at the end of "Climbing Uphill". However, her connections to the past have greatly affected her and caused her a great amount of pain.
