Dr. Marisa Greene was one of the best neurosurgeons in the country. She took risks that no one else would even dream about. But with risks came big rewards. Her specialty was coma patients. Mysteriously, a case about a coma patient fell onto her desk, and it had intrigued her. This poor man had just been found on the side of the road one night and none of the doctors in the small town could figure out how to bring him out of the coma.
She had found when she looked at who had sent her the file. Someone named Henry Mills. Whoever it was, she was sure that he probably shouldn’t have had access to the file. How he found out about her, she wasn’t sure, but none the less she packed her things and headed to Storybrooke. After nearly getting lost, she crossed the town line and set her path into the hospital.
The locals gave her strange looks, but once she started to rattle off her credentials, they let her work her magic. After only a couple of weeks in town, she found the cause of the coma and worked endless to find a way for him out of it. Mostly she only worked, only resting to eat or sleep. Sometimes she even slept in the chair next to him.
It made her sad that he had no one there with him and in some weird way, he was her only friend. Sometimes she talked to him about her day or what she liked. It was nice but lonely. She was only more motivated to save this man, if only so she could hopefully hear him actually answer her.
And then by some miracle he woke up. Of course it was when she wasn’t around. In fact she had been off getting drunk and sleeping with some loser in the local bar. But once they finally got through to her, she rushed to John Doe’s side, and smiled widely.
“You’re awake. I’m Doctor Greene, the one who worked with you.” She introduced herself softly. A small smile on her face. This was truly something special, to see someone wake up from a coma.
