I sat down this weekend and wrote out my principles and values as part of a larger exercise. I'm very proud of what I've come up with;
1. Taking accountability proactively.
2. Commitment to decentralized movement building/leadership.
3. Building relationships in service of liberation across the intersection of oppressions.
4. Commitment to vulnerability by expressing my own and making space for others to do so as well.
5. Empowering myself and others to step up in these processes and roles that will end the carceral state (accountability circles, community harm reduction teams, etc.)
6. Support the most marginalized as the most qualified to speak on these oppressive systems.
7. Divest from the carceral state.
This will grow and change. It felt satisfying to articulate them, to flesh out what my political alignment is. Highly recommended.
Now I'm going to flesh out my relational principles.
