A Definite Improvement
So I actually did make progress on this yesterday, but I forgot to take more than one picture or post about it. I cut out the lotuses from the large sheet (I kept the scraps of stabilizer for future small projects) and pasted one onto the fabric.
Following the lines was a little difficult because of the width of the soutache, but I think the result speaks for itself.
I did have some difficulty still with ensuring the ends didn't stick out from under the subsequent layer of soutache, but I'm still significantly happier with this attempt than the previous one.
I am currently moving out of my room temporarily so that I can paint the walls and construct a new bed frame, so that may take up time and I'm still working on getting my head right, but I am excited about working on this again. I'm also getting a tattoo in honor of my bunny (my friend is doing a stick and poke for me, they're using professional equipment don't worry), so that is also going to claim part of my time. I'm just trying to keep my head above water while I wait for the tide to go out basically.
