overall, is your muse happy with their life? what about it brings them the most joy?
Yes, Francis is indeed very happy with his life. Most of his joy comes from the freedom that love allows him, being loved enough to be himself. His parents have always cherished him deeply, encouraging his passions and independence. His friends, ever patient and kind, make his days lighter. His dogs, with their unwavering affection, remind him of simple happiness. And his work, surrounded by people and stories that warm his heart, ties it all together.
in what ways is your muse unhappy with their life? how has the curse manifested for them? has it made them feel misery or isolation in some way? or does it affect them differently?
The curse didn’t make Francis cruel or bitter, but it took from him something essential: his sense of adventure. Once an explorer and sailor devoted to the sea, he now finds life on land lacking the same spark, as if he were watching it through glass. Though his spirit remains free, there’s a quiet dullness he can’t quite shake. Society’s expectations weigh on him too. At his age, he should have a family and a steady path ahead. He is dutiful, kind, and capable, yet refuses to marry without love. That conviction, while noble, sometimes leaves him feeling slightly adrift.
what does your muse do for a living in the valley? how do they feel about their occupation? ( does it bring them any joy or do they hate it? )
For the past year, Francis has been the proud owner of Little Rivers Pub, and he genuinely loves what he does. The laughter, the music, the company of both locals and travelers, it all fills him with a sense of belonging. The work itself can be demanding, but there’s comfort in the routine and joy in the connections he makes.
what is your muse's personal philosophy or outlook on life? does it tend to be more positive or negative?
He tends to see life through a hopeful lens. Even when faced with challenges, he searches for the light that lingers at the edges; a lesson learned, a reason to smile, a chance to start again. He believes in the idea that no matter how heavy the storm, it eventually clears.
what level of education did your muse receive in their early life? did they do any schooling beyond that? if so, please elaborate ( please remember, the time period. school might not have been an option for everyone, especially higher education )
Francis received a refined education under private tutors, as expected of a young man of his upbringing. He studied languages, history, and philosophy, but it was the art of commerce that ultimately shaped his path. Encouraged by his father, he pursued formal studies in political economy at university. Still, his fondness for literature and storytelling never faded.
does your muse currently ( post-curse ) believe in fate or destiny? what about magic?
Francis likes to think that things happen for a reason. Not fate, exactly, but a sort of everyday magic in the small moments. Like the way a laugh lingers, a song finds you on the street, or someone unexpected appears in your path. Like the morning he met the most beautiful girl he’d ever seen while walking his dogs. A simple coincidence that felt, somehow, entirely meant to be.

does your muse have a high or low standard of morals? how do they feel about those with standards different from their own?
Francis holds very high moral standards. He was raised by a family who valued integrity deeply, and those principles were instilled in him as both guidance and expectation. Yet, his goodness is not merely taught. It is innate, a part of who he is. When his strong sense of right and wrong is challenged, he can become quite passionate in defending it, sometimes struggling to understand how others can act cruelly or selfishly. His convictions are firm, but always rooted in care rather than judgment.
what do they think is the worst thing that can be done to a person?
To Francis, the worst thing is to take away someone’s freedom. Liberty, in all its forms, is sacred to him. And any act that confines or diminishes another’s ability to live fully and make their own choices feels like the gravest wrong. Stripping someone of their autonomy is, to him, a betrayal of the very essence of humanity.

do they believe redemption is possible for everyone? if not, what would they consider as unredeemable acts?
Francis does believe in redemption, perhaps more than he should. He’s always been inclined to see the good that remains, even when it’s buried beneath mistakes. Still, there are things he considers unforgivable: deliberate cruelty, betrayal of trust, and the harm done for pleasure or gain. To him, remorse must be genuine, or redemption is just a word.
what are two character values are most important to your muse, and why?
The two values he holds dearest are loyalty and kindness. Loyalty, because to - truly - stand by someone is an act of courage. And kindness, because it costs nothing yet changes everything. Those are the principles that guide how he treats others, no matter how chaotic or imperfect life becomes.
what are their views of dishonesty? is there ever an acceptable time for it?
When it comes to dishonesty, Francis struggles. He believes in honesty as a virtue, but life has taught him that sometimes lies are the gentler path, when truth would wound beyond repair. Even so, deceit weighs heavily on him, and he’s poor at keeping it.
are they free with their promises? are they good for their word or are they known to break it?
Promises are sacred to him, he doesn’t give them lightly. And when he does, he keeps them. If Francis swears something, it’s as good as done. Even if it breaks his heart to fulfill it.
is there someplace in the valley they feel happiest? how often do they go there? please explain what it might be about that location.
Francis feels happiest at the lakeside, especially on warm days when the sun glimmers on the water. He often swims when the weather allows, letting the cool water wash over him while the dogs splash and play nearby. It’s a place where he can pause, breathe and simply enjoy how much he likes being by the water.
is there somewhere in the valley they don't like or won't go? what is the reason behind that?
He doesn’t really avoid any place in the valley out of fear or superstition, his adventurous spirit and curiosity drive him to explore. That said, he’s not reckless. He doesn’t wander into corners without reason. He chooses his excursions with care, without unnecessary risk.
do they frequent parts of the valley that are further from town? if so, what do they like to do out there? if they have ventured into the forest, has anything ever happened to them there that would make them believe the stories? OR if they remain close to town, does it have anything to do with a fear of the stories?
Francis often wanders through the fields, hills, and outskirts of the valley with his dogs. Since most of them are large and energetic, he enjoys areas where they can run freely and safely. He sometimes ventures near the edges of the forest, but he avoids going too deep. The dogs get restless and agitated for reasons he doesn’t entirely understand, and he prefers to keep their walks enjoyable rather than stressful.
