".... You know, I never thought this school would have so many kids running around in it. I mean, not that it's a bad thing- Little kids are great, they remind me of my own little brothers- But there sure are a bunch of 'em."
µ for priss!
µ:My character’s final words to the group.
"I can’t believe she tried to leave… It saves us a trial, but this still isn’t right…" Dorothy sighed, handing the note over for Jill to read.
"Her final words…" The Oracle’s hands trembled, as she read out the recent causality’s letter to the rest of the group.
"My Friends,
I’m sorry that I’m not as good as the rest of you at this thing. I don’t know how you guys are so brave, around all this murder and violence and…. I keep freezing up. But I hate not being able to help. So I’m going to try something.
I think I can scale the wall and make it to the other side. Once there, I’ll try to get help for everyone! I’ve seen birds on the wall, so maybe the guns are fake? So don’t be afraid, I’m sure I’ll be back soon! And if I’m not…
It’ll be nice to see Sylvia again.”
According to what her friends had told her, a good way to learn how to read Japanese better was to find something you'd enjoy reading. For Dorothy, it was as as simple as getting copies of her favorite manga in their original language. Jill had acquired a selection of novels- both classics originally written in English and ones originally written in Japan. But for Priscilla, she was fond of the third type of written media- magazines.
"Ahhh, hmmm.... So many choices.... And yet, I don't know what to pick. Oh double dear..."
Before the magazine rack, Priscilla found herself at a pause. Any of these could be on any sort of topics, but she couldn't tell which was which- a fashion or pop culture magazine would be fine, but Priscilla wasn't sure if this place even had books like Better Homes and Gardens or Parenting, full of cute DIY projects that always seemed to take up the ballerina's free time.
Priscilla turned her head to look at the person next to her, and addressed them brightly- in English. Maybe they could help her make a choice! .... If they understood what she was saying.
"Hi!! Um, do you speak English?? Could you, like, help me pick out a magazine? Like, anything's fine, really- I'm still learning Japanese, you know?"
"You made it all the way across Oz just to see me? My, you must be incredibly-deadibly tired! Please, take a seat anywhere and rest yourself, poor dearie. Would you like some sort of refreshment? I am a Good Witch, but some may say that I'm a better hostess!"
"... Ah, straight to the point. It makes sense, though. This place is a lovely view, but a hard trek. Yes, my reputation is true, and I do try to make as many happy and good wishes true that my magic allows. .... But Dorothy is beyond even my power. Think of it as, like, when you mix hot and cold. They try to even out instead of, you know, getting the better of each other? Witches are like that. I can't undo the Witch that she is. I'm awfully sorry."
"Hmmmm, wait! Before you go, let me ask one thing. Did... She tell you to keep your distance? ... Ah. Then I say, if you've been so determined to march all the way up here, you should... Continue marching, yeah! Dorothy can no longer be good, but certainly, at least for you, she can still be nice. ... Mmhmm, so says the Witch of The North. Er, me. Heehee~! ♥ "
"Oh, of all the baddest bad luck!"
The new American student stood in the gymnasium, glaring down at an ipod sitting in a little speaker attachment. She rested her hands on her hips, and tapped her foot in annoyance as she dug through her bag.
"Oh, super duper double bad! How in the world can I do my stretches if I don't have any music- Hey! You!"
Priscilla whirled on her heel and pointed at the new person to have stepped into the gym, a big, hopeful smile leaping onto her face.
"You there, yes, you!! Could you be a doll, an absolute doll, and help me out? Do you use an ipod? You got a charger I can borrow? Mine's completely out of juice and I'd be doubly-bubbly grateful if you could help me out!"
♥ Introducing: The Harte of the Group ♥
Jill walked up and went over to their dorm door, opening it to be greeted by the same overpowering fruity smell. Two long arms sprang in from outside, and hands with glittery pink nails grasped around the Oracle and drug her into a hug. Dorothy hopped off of her bed to take in this new excitement. "Oh my goodness! You're adorable!!!!" The stranger cried in English, who could have been Super High School Level by her looks alone. Indeed, she was tall, wearing a striped red shirt and white pants to match. Her hair curled up and down in a cherry red ponytail that flowed down her shoulder. Dorothy took a minute to take all of this woman in, and there was certainly a lot in to take. Oh and Jill was in a lovey dovey deadlock. Dorothy stepped forward and waved to get the other girl's attention. "Uh, hiya there. You speak English?" Dorothy asked. Big brown eyes sparkled down at Dorothy and the new girl nodded. "Yep! Oh, I heard that my next door neighbors would speak it too, but I had no idea you two would be so totally cute!" She smiled, finally letting go of Jill. "I'm Priscilla Harte, just got off tour so I'm starting my school year a little bit late." "Hurhf," Jill gasped as she was released, ever the most eloquent of the room mates. "Priscilla... Harte? The ballet prodigy from-" "California!" Priscilla chirped, touching a hand to her cheek. "Yeah! I was busy with a Nutcracker tour- you know, cause Christmas-" "Yeah, yeah, I get-" "-That I never really had enough time to brush up my Japanese too well, but I heard you two were really good at it-" "So I presume you-" "- So maybe I could practice and we could be, like, study buddies, you know?" Priscilla explained, completely unaware of how she steamrolled the other girls' attempted additions to the conversation. Jill and Dorothy shared a glance with each other for a moment, before one of them spoke up. "Yeah!" Dorothy nods. "I think it'd be a lot of fun. Plus, I don't see many Americans here. Nice ta meet ya, Priscilla!" "Nice to meet you too... Uh," Priscilla giggled. "You two? Oh my goodness, I haven't even asked your names yet! Like, woah, what a scatterbrain am I, right?" "Oh, it's perfectly alright, dear," Jill smiled, taking a small curtsey (a motion that provoked a squeak from the ballerina). "Jillian Delphy, Oracle." "Wait, aren't you the one who predicted a bunch of earthquakes? Girl, you totally, like, saved my Sweet Sixteen Bash! I owe you!" Priscilla then turned to Dorothy. "What about you, sweetheart?" "Dorothy Montaine, ah..." Dorothy shrugged. "Just a Good Luck. But if you need help with anythin', I'm your gal!" "Aaaahhh, really?" Priscilla's fists shook with excitement and then she gently held Dorothy's face, gazing into those big blue puppy eyes. "Oh my gosh, you're adorable! Look, your hair does a little... A little.... A little flippy thing!!! Isn't she adorable Jill?" "Simply the most charming," Jill agreed. Dorothy sighed a little. Well, at least she has a new friend... With a personality unfortunately just as big as the rest of her.
