FINAL REVIEW- PRIVATE EXHIBITION
As a group of three (Zoe, Linnea and I) we discussed ideas pretty well, we used facebook chat to share our ideas and met up on occasions to sort out certain things.
When it came to looking for a venue Zoe and I looked into places and shared them with Linnea, I then emailed a few places and fortunately managed to get a reply from The Heights. We decided as a group to have a look at the place and talk to the manger together. Which we did and decided to go with this place for our exhibition. The bonus part was that the venue hire was free which meant we could spend more money on the quality of the photos.
With the photos we once again met up to go into two different stores, Photo Expert and Snappy Snaps, after a quick chat with someone at the store we thought Photo expert was the best place to get our photos printed at, just because it would turn out cheaper for a bigger size then snappy snaps. Also we managed to get discount for our photos.
Realising that we would only have to pay for the prints and photo frames we decided to do some sort of fund raising, after a discussion we came up with a bake sale. Which was perfect because everyone loves cakes. When we did the bake sale not so many people was interested, we managed to raise over £50 which was great to pay towards the photo prints. We have no idea why we didn't sell as much as the other previous group but we was happy with the results.
After raising the money we then started to look into photo frames, and Linnea found some perfect frames from IKEA for only £4 each. But we had to decide on sizes before anything, so we thought having 4 photos each and one would be size A2 and the other three sizes A3. The reason for this was because we wanted to have three of our best work together in a bigger size.
So we had our venue, photos sorted and the photo frames. Which then left us to sort out the poster. I suggested either Linnea or Zoe designs the poster, as they have the best creative skills but then Linnea decided to do a floor plan of where our photos will be in the pub which left Zoe to design the poster. We did suggest ideas for the poster so Zoe wasn't left to do all of the work. The poster prints was printed by ourselves but the leaflets that Linnea made was printed at the Uni.
Once we had everything sorted out pretty much everything we only had to pay for the prints which came out of our own pockets, and was £27 each, we thought this prize was good saying we had 4 prints each and in bigger sizes.
On the night we put £20 behind the bar which they gave us a selection of ciders, we provided our own fizzy drinks and cups. We only had 3 people from our class turn up which was a let down saying we advertised around the uni and also made a facebook group, however people from the public did pay an interest to the exhibition and Linnea managed to sell one of her photos which is great.
I think the final night was successful, and even working throughout the weeks with Linnea and Zoe also worked out well, there was no arguments or negative feelings with each other, i would happily work with these two again, knowing we would do a great final outcome together.
