chat... I have a confession to make...
I like pvp civilization more than parkour civilization. I FIND IT MORE INTERESTING IM SORRY
parkciv is built like a shonen, pvpvciv is built like a YA distopian novel. I prefer the second one. it's more dark, it's a less mythical story and the characters seem more grounded in reality. so it's a more relatable story.
parkciv has underlying themes of classism, meritocracy and capitalism with a hopeful religious tone. meanwhile in pvpciv, while still having some trait of a classist society that was supposed to be a meritocracy, the trials to level up (or in this case, down) are superable, is a more relatable struggle. the religious theme, instead of being hopeful, is seen more like a curse, so evbo being the literal pvp Jesus is lived like a punishment. we all know what it feels like to be punished by fate, in a way or another, so it's more grounded to earth in some weird way.
so yeah, parkciv is a shonen full of hope, a happy ending story with a beautiful growth and adventures, while pvpciv is a dark distopian coming of age YA novel, with reasonable goals but higher stakes and more of a "all against the protagonist" setting.
thank you for coming to my TED talk
If I had a nickel for every time I spent ~2-3 hours watching a single minecraft video for the hahas and ended up with my eyes watering and emotionally attachments to block characters I would have 3 nickels and I'm not happy about it
Thinking about nothing in particular but parkour civilization worldbuilding... Do young kids dare eachother to travel out further and further from the main living area? Do teenagers dare eachother to jump for the beef ? Do friends or family jump for food for others when there sick or too young to jump for themselves ? This is all abput the noob level sorry because I assume it would be the most populated (even if thats not strictly true in canon). Are the parkour noobs amazed by the pros that come down from oh so far above, bringing food and tickets down ? Do young kids follow them around excitedly all the way to the parkour back up ? Man I could go on
I find it quite ironic that while in parkour civ the only place you can see the sky is the top, in pvp civ the only place you can see it is the bottom.
And I think it corelates nicely with their gimmicks, parkour is more easily done with lots of space to get momentum for jump while in pvp it's easier to hit your opponents in closed spaces ( or at least I think so)
Wip of a parkour civ animatic because won't stop don't stop
Here in Parkour civilization, everything is parkour. Even the yaoi Aka I know we love Seavbo but have you ever thought about TOM (the old man) and Clown (the villain) and how they grew up together and were best friends but then TOM left Clown behind so he could become champion and Clown probably always thought he was worse that TOM and so developed racing as a fun way to be equal to his champion friend and got locked up because of it?
