Rabé Headcanons

Rabé was born and raised in Theed, the youngest (and brightest) of four siblings

She knew Eirtaé before both were accepted into the Royal Handmaiden Academy and they are best friends 

Being one of the handmaidens who looks nothing like Padmé Amidala, Rabé has a very specific set of skills: she has superior combat abilities - both close and ranged

Her official role in the group of handmaidens is Combat Specialist

However, she hates fighting, so people never really appreciate just how good she is at combat (she loves to spar, though)

Rabé is an absolute sweetheart - next to Dormé, she is the kindest of the handmaidens; just... an Eternal Optimist(tm)

She can (and has) taken down ARC troopers in sparring matches because they underestimated her - she is TINY, like all the handmaidens (5′3″), but they have gone through years of intense training and know how to perform epic takedowns at the drop of a hat

During the course of the Clone Wars, Rabé, Eirtaé, and Sabé stayed together on assignments for the reigning Queen of Naboo while Dormé, Cordé (rip), and Teckla Minnau (RIP) went with Padmé to Coruscant

There were a few instances when the three reunited with Padmé and all of them worked with Anakin and the 501st on missions Not Shown - which is a tragedy please take a moment to picture this image

Rabé’s personal mantra is “Do No Harm But Take No Shit”

Sabé Headcanons

The last of the three handmaidens who stayed on Naboo as a special operations task force after Padmé Amidala was elected as Senator, Sabé is the ‘eldest sister’ and serves as Captain to Eirtaé and Rabé.

Even during Padmé’s tenure as Senator, Sabé would still be called to act as a decoy during hostilities

This may have caused one or two confusing incidents when a certain rash young Jedi swept in unannounced to save the ‘Senator’ - much to the amusement of the handmaidens and Obi-Wan Kenobi who was, of course, also present

Sabé main duty is that of a decoy, and as such is highly skilled in imitation and is incredibly politically savvy - she also speaks a ton of languages, including Twi’leki and (understands) Shryiiwook

In incredible contrast to Padmé, Sabé is a realist and slightly pessimistic, viewing the galaxy’s state of affairs with great concern.

She is not as skilled in hand-to-hand combat as Rabé, but is a crack shot with a blaster.

Drinks whiskey neat and doesn’t really talk a lot if she can get away with it.

More than a little in love with Padmé, which... complicates things.

Would absolutely die for Padmé - and all of her sisters, too.

Very protective - her first instincts and thoughts are about how to best protect her family and loved ones.

Less ‘shoot first, ask questions later’ than Eirtaé, but just barely.

Sabé’s actual motto is “pray you don’t give me an excuse to show you my claws.”

Eirtaé Headcanons

@evaceratops​ found some really excellent stuff in Eirtaé’s Legends tab on Wookieepedia so we’re considering all of that canon, because there is less than nothing about the handmaidens in actual canon

Eirtaé and Rabé are best friends, which is hilarious to see because Rabé is a tiny sweet darling and Eirtaé is a pessimistic “sentient block of salt” (thank you Eva for accurate character descriptions)

She grew up in a very well-to-do family but was kind of removed from regular life, which is part of the reason she lost the election of Queen to Padmé

She is quiet and always watching - she knows everything, guys, don’t even think of lying to her - and she rarely speaks, but when she does… you had better listen

Eirtaé is double-jointed

Not as good at combat as Rabé but down to fight every minute of every single day

She loves her sisters in her own silent, carved-from-marble way and is extremely protective of them

Second oldest of the handmaidens after Sabé

As yet another handmaiden who looks nothing like Padmé (and who is actually a little taller - 5′4″), Eirtaé’s role is languages, tech, and pilot 

She grew up in a noble family and can speak dozens of languages and is a fairly accomplished pilot

Eirtaé can communicate extremely well with just her eyes - you know exactly what she’s thinking if she stares you down (best hope it’s she’s not throwing daggers)
