Okay I’m sorry, I just really have to say something because it’s been bugging me for a long while now.

I see some self shippers be really against “proshipping” (or what they believe is gross/“problematic ships” (whatever THOSE mean nowadays)?)

And from what I’ve read of what proshipping means (or used to mean, I guess?? This is so confusing)… shouldn’t “proship” (problematic ship) and thus antiship, have a new label or term?

Because self shipping at its core is very proship in and of itself, isn’t it? (the old meaning of proship, at least; being “for ships you personally like/find interesting/want to ship” )

So if antiship is supposed to mean anti-proship (aka, anti-problematicship), why don’t people just… change the word antiship to something like safeship?

I mean I’m not part of any sort of shipping labels anymore because of this very reason; no one seems to know what any of them mean.

As a selfshipper who just ships what I want, including myself with characters I find hot/appealing, it really bothers me seeing posts forcing people to interact or not depending on labels they’re apparently also forcing people to use.

Please don’t send any hate, I’m simply trying to understand all of this, because this is ridiculous.
