Here’s my rebuttal to the common Avengers: Endgame compliant that “Steve would never settle down with Peggy in the 40s while knowing Bucky was being tortured by HYDRA at that time.”

Who says he didn’t save Bucky??

Steve knew that time-traveling to reunite with Peggy would create an alternate timeline and not affect the reality he’d been living in. All we see of his branched timeline is a moment where he danced with Peggy. How are we supposed to assume exactly how his life unfolded, when all we see of it is thirty seconds of them dancing one day? There is no evidence to support the notion that he didn’t tell Peggy about HYDRA and they didn’t rescue Bucky, before or after the dance.

Agent Carter Season 1 is truly one of the most satisfying rewatches of all time for the Steggy-shipping Peggy stan, because Peggy gets to leave all the negging misogynistic fuckboys of the SSR office behind and wins a total HEA that includes a top-notch career fighting fascism AND the love of her life who she thought she'd lost forever...

As someone who is currently rewatching s1 for the first time in years? 100% this.

That whole season 1 finale was already perfect pre-Endgame (we won't talk about s2), but it was a very different kind of perfect. It was perfect in a bittersweet way, the same way the plane crash scene is perfect in a bittersweet way. For almost 10 years, that was Steggy shipping. Everything was bittersweet because they were forever missing each other.

With Endgame--and I've said this before--First Avenger is just so much easier to watch, knowing that they do in fact get their dance. It's a step in a very long, convoluted, winding road that makes it all the sweeter when you do finally get to Endgame. Same with AC s1 now. All of it is so much easier to watch knowing that they do in fact get their happy ending.

Some (toxic) Stucky shippers really be out here complaining about Marvel “shoving” all the Steggy content “down our throats” in the new What If…? episode as if it hasn’t been cannon for like 10 years, and easily one of Marvel’s best couples.

Apparently there are people who pretend that Steve Rogers traveling back in time not to miss his date with Peggy was misogynist control freak shit and their whole marriage was basically rape.......

I don’t want to explain why that’s wrong because it’s just so clear they don’t actually believe it and have started this idea on bad faith in order to smear Steve but....... I can’t help it.

Babes. It’s not inceldom to still love someone (WHO RECIPROCATED YOUR FEELINGS!!!) that was ripped away from you for a couple years. It’s not mind control for Steve to return to the point where his life was taken away and ask Peggy to continue their existing date (where is the evidence this was or ever would be forcible? When has Peggy ever expressed she’d have broke it off with Steve? WHAT wishes are being ignored?). We all know he would spill the beans in the first place, and I don’t see how he could ever use coming from the future to abuse and control her in some way when his mere presence fucks the timestream.
