Hey everyone its international day to end violence against sex workers (look it up). So heres a reminder that sex work is work of the exact same kind as any other under capitalism. heres your reminder to value and respect sex workers. Heres your reminder that wh/re is a violent slur used against sex workers and quite literally = sexworker not slut so using it interchangeably with slut is wrong and just plain wrong and nonsensical bcuz sex workers are Not sluts for whoever their clients are. If youre using it just for degradation then youre equating sex workers with humiliation and thats also weird.
If youve used it in the past, now is time to move away from it and use the word youve been meaning to all this time: slut.
Respect sex workers, tip them, mobilize for them, protest with them for their rights and protection.
Sex workers have always stood with the lgbtq community and even the people who pushed for our rights at stone wall and in other big protests or riots have been sex workers but that part is erased.
They have and continue to fight for safety and recognition and decrim, and the least ppl who arent sex workers can do is stand by them and support them and help towards their safety.
Sex work is real work and sex workers deserves safety.
