I hear people say all the time that they don't want children but yet they have dogs.dogs demand alot of your time so they are basically like children plus how can you saythatyou don't want any children with all the orphans out there that need good homes right now.there are starving children but yet you don't want kids.you didn't want to be pregnant so you just throw away that life with an abortion.a young couple who can't get pregnant would have loved to have your baby or that older couple who love children but can't have anymore because of their age.it takes a selfish person to say that they do not want children.it takes a cold hearted person to get an abortion. At one time I once said that I didn't want children but here I am with two sweet boys and I would not change a fucking thing.
Ok, I don’t normally get all political, but this is something I’m particularly passionate about. I’ve been reading pro choice and pro life posts. Now, before I begin, I’ll point out that I am completely pro life. I’ve been reading about how “pregnancy can harm the mother” and how “letting something live off your body makes it your choice.” Well, what I’m about to say is unorthodox and, if you are a hardcore pro choice or liberal, stop reading now.
If you don’t want to get pregnant, don’t have sex. I know being married is sort of an exception, but a child conceived because of it has every right to live. Even when you’re married, if a child is conceived, it is no accident. That child is there for a purpose and you DON’T have a right to take that purpose away.
Now, for a personal story: When I was 16 years old, I was diagnosed with primary ovarian insufficiency syndrome, meaning that my ovaries stopped working when I was younger. I won’t be able to have kids. I won’t get to experience the miracle of a child’s growth inside of me. You having the right to extinguish that miracle is not fair. I want to adopt, and I will GLADLY take a child that you don’t want. So don’t tell me that it’s your “right” to end a life.
Rant over.
How to locate the nearest animal shelter in your area.
http://theshelterpetproject.org/shelters
I have looked through many websites regarding how to find an animal shelter and what the adoption process looks like. This site is awesome, you put in your zip code and it will guide you to the shelters in your local area along with a questionnaire to see what kind of animal you are looking for and what your personalities like along with the environment you live in (e.i. House, Apartment, and etc.) Since the shelters work everyday with these animals they begin to develop an understanding on what kind of traits each animals have which comes in handy when matching them up with new owners. It is so important to be pro-adoption when it comes to animals and not just go to your local pet shop or breeder because these animals all deserve a good home and not saying the shelters are bad, but they don’t get the freedom they would normally receive with you or a family.
