And while I get the down below double meaning, the rest of the sentence always BOTHERED me SO much since... really? Nothing more profound than that as farewell?

Only now:

Han gave his life in exchange for his son’s. So the SOLO who will, in fact, meet Chewie back here after going down below is BEN.

Mystery solved.

While star crossed lovers is a popular trope, it always rings false to me for reylo. Anakin and Padme were star crossed. In the end, they couldn’t be together.

Ben and Rey, canonically, have a unique force bond. They must fulfill their destiny together.

They’re star bound (lovers).
