I don’t actually leave when I’m not posting here, I just spend most of my time working on my original comics. Which are full of ships that would be considered Extremely Problematic...if they were popular enough for more than a dozen people to care.

(Age gaps! Redeemed villains! Teens being attracted to each other! Non-redeemed villains! Power dynamics! Characters who first met when one was underage, even though now he’s in his two-hundreds! Tiny people, which obviously makes them all minor-coded! Characters with the kinds of disabilities that some people love to infantilize! Characters having any kinds of conflict whatsoever! It’s all here.)

Since you were in the Sailor Moon fandom at one point, what would you say are the "problematic" ships in that series? Have you seen any get bashed?

I'd say I'm still in SM fandom! Just devoting less time to it than I used to.

Not even gonna try to identify all the "problematic" ships...we’d be here all day. This fandom has hero/villain ships, villain/villain ships, age-difference ships, characters whose relative ages change so now they’re age-difference ships in the other direction, ships with characters who have treated each other badly at some point doing this 200-episode series, ships between relatives, ships between characters who might be relatives, and a straight-up canon scene of a character making out with her own dad. Endless options, here.

Also, let’s be real, any time a fan doesn’t like a ship, they can decide “it must be Problematic” and work backwards from there to come up with a reason why.

...but I don’t follow those kinds of SM fans, so none of that crosses my dash these days.

(What I used to see Back In The Day was more about individual-character bashing, not ship-bashing. Like, you would get whole dedicated hate sites to, say, "ugh, Chibiusa is horrible and annoying." But not so much "ugh, everyone who ships Chibiusa/Helios is Literally Pro-Bestiality, and everyone who ships Chibiusa/Hotaru is grooming real children into believing it’s okay when your abusive partner rips out your heart crystal and eats it.”)

Just wanted to say that your blog makes me really, really happy. I love to come here and see the support for ships that people get mean over (even if I don't know them myself), especially when i see a post or someone being mean about a ship I like that's bad or "un-pure". Its nice to be reminded that there are other people out there that won't say cruel things to me because of it, or will even make super cute art for some of them. Thank you for existing and doing what you do. <3

Hey, is this blog still running? If so, would you do art for a poly ship?

This blog is very neglected, unfortunately, but poly ships have always been welcome! Gonna get a couple of prompts filled this month, including a triad.

Can we request characters that get a lot of hate, or ships that don’t get hate so much as the characters in the ship individually get hate?

Afraid not -- I’m just one person, the list of “problematic ships” is already long enough, even if I took requests for “bashed characters” I’d never actually get around to them.

Go for it! It’s not like I have a patent on the idea of “taking art prompts” or “making positive work in response to negativity.” If you’re inspired, follow your heart.

Just got the weirdest ask. Anon claimed they innocently wanted information about furries, but if that was true, they would’ve sent the question to...a furry blog. Or someone who’s in the furry community. Not, you know, some random blog that’s never made a single fur-related post.

Is this a known thing? Like, is there someone out there whose hobby is “anonymously sending bizarre questions about furries to blogs that have nothing to do with them”?
