That one person talking about Bayonetta is pulling that out of their ass. The male director said "As to Bayonetta, she is also a very original character design, but in many ways this character is my ideal woman." and "I’d like to go as far as possible--but it’s up to the “grown-ups” around me to keep me from doing so!"
Yeaaahhhhh.... People sometimes feel the need to defend things they like in social justice terms when it’s like... just accept that you can enjoy things that aren’t progressive, that’s fine. But don’t go around denying legitimate criticisms of the thing? Because then you just excuse regressive tropes and no progress is made.
