what sets bipolar apart from schizoaffective disorder?
(off the top of my head, I’m not an expert, don’t take my word as gospel )schizoaffective disorder is basically combination of schizo-spectrum disorders and mood disorders. People with schizoaffective disorder meet criteria (or partially meet) for both. (not necessarily mania and depression, it’s possible to present with just mania/hypomania, or just depressive episodes) One of the main things distinctions is that psychotic people who solely have mood disorders, their psychosis is linked to episodes, whereas when you have schizoaffective disorder, you can have psychotic episodes separate to mood episodes. The post I made just before is just mentioning my mood episodes, but I have had quite a few psychotic episodes that have nothing to do with my moods. Like my mood was pretty stable in February/march, but I was very psychotic. someone with psychotic bipolar, that wouldn’t be possible. (unless they have something else that makes them experience psychosis, like certain PD’s, certain medication etc)here’s the wikipedia of it https://en.wikipedia.org/?title=Schizoaffective_disorder
(i’m not sure if you wanted me to publish this or not, but I thought it’d be good for other people to see, ask me to delete if you want )
