Death of a Black Canadian

What began as a 911 call for help ended in the death of Regis Korchinski-Paquet, who was only 29 fucking years old.

The fact that this happened IN CANADA (of all places) means that WE ARE NOT PAST RASCISM. Many people think that racism isn’t a problem in canada, including me at one time.

Fiery Lakes

What was wrong with wearing next to nothing? Was my skin shameful, or my bare body something, That, I should hide, Something that I should keep behind, That closed door, it all came with the ships After those surprise trips. Those shoes, coat, and slacks cover up the sores from the whips, The freedom train replaced with chains, it all came so quick, turned our sunny skies into pounding rains. All so yall could be rich, it makes me sick. The pain will take generations to wash away. For what, the love of money? Honey, I'm sorry to say that it's too late to pray to God, they already took  that chance away, while we slaved away to create the country that they made us make. Then turn around make us eat scrapes, won't even let us have the whole grape. I'm sick of bein told that I like chicken, maybe I want some steak! Maybe I want to live the way we used to before yall took that all away. Maybe I want to love the life that I wake up to every day. Maybe I want to have a reason to be awake, Instead of lookin for a way out of this fiery lake.
