I'm not gonna post this on my Tolkienverse's side blog. Because that blog is only for ☆aesthetic☆
After rewatching Rings of Power again, I've found quite remarkable and smarts; easter eggs+reference to The silmarillion, not only The Silmarillion, but interesting details too. And I wanna talk about it here. I have to put this out. I'm high due to a sleeping deprived 😂
We get young Isildur and his days in Númenor with his father - Elendil - before he and his father emigrated to Middle-Earth and settled down, became Aragorn's ancestors. Kudos to showrunners!
Yet, I have ton of kudos to give on Isildur's little back story.
His name: Isildur, means 'servant of the moon' (from Tolkiengateway). And in RoP he was Sea Guard Cadet. His mother died because saving him from drowning, and he always thinking about her.
My propose is the showrunners are smart, or as if they do not adapt this in the first place, nevertheless, it's still smart.
In Astrology (allow me to presume) we know that the moon's element is water, above from our unconciousness and security; mother.
And yes, Isildur had special connection both good and bad wth his mother, and his memories of her. Like I've said above. Such a smart symbolic.
Like the Steven Grant persona of Moonknight, in the series we've seen Steven calling his mother on the phone, and the rest...just as we know.
