Or doing drugs. Or eating food. Or netflixing. Or reading books. Or (insert escapism choice here) Whatever it may be, if you don’t learn the skills to process your emotions effectively they will stick around until you are forced to look at them. For too long we have been told to only feel happy and positive, no one wants to be around you if you are sad and/or angry. This gets to change. We get to be emotionally healthy humans living life. Throw a tantrum. Scream and punch into a pillow. Cry, ugly snot cry, whatever it feels good to cry- cry. Or sit in silence and notice the tension in your body. Breathe into that tension. See what comes up for you. Have someone with trauma knowledge guide it for you. These are just two of my favourite ways to process emotions. Reach out if you would like help with any of this. I am here to listen, love and I can guide you as well. Whatever you do, know that every emotion you experience is there to be felt and no matter what it is you don’t deserve to be made wrong for it ❤️ And if you have children this is one of the best things you can give them in life ❤️ #strongwithoutrealising #processemotions #traumainformed #traumaresponse #throwatantrum https://www.instagram.com/p/CN3IEpsDIcI/?igshid=18hzzo89c1j83
