“Process is Messy” ...Jeff Klein understands this so well and I loved this little illustration of his. Art is a messy process because it’s paint and media that naturally requires clean up as part of the process. ..but it’s more than that. 🎨🎨🎨 Art is that space of personal discovery where we connect to our inner stories and bring them to life. We learn so much along the way and unearth so much. We work through the mess of evolving into something new... we evolve with the art. This evolution, this change is often not a straight line but a tangle of ideas that we are ordering so they can shape into a form that speaks the story we want to share. Process is messy as we discover what we really want to say along the way. 🍂🍂🍂 This art process is where we are searching and in that searching we create. As an intuitive artist Their is no fixed plan but a general direction and a trust in this process. A trust that the process itself is a guided one that will show me which way to go. Sometimes that takes what feels like many misdirections as I course correct but it is this explorative nature of this art process that builds the beautiful energy in the art piece. The course corrections are the changes I am making along the way to keep up with me. Art changes me as it reshapes my world through all the connections and discoveries it invites. It challenges me continually to be my best and to know that this is about process. There is no straight line to follow and sometimes it is all tangled up in a confused mess. Art helps me create spirals and patterns that move me and inspire my heart to keep playing. This is the joy of process. Abraham’s would say that this is contrast and is what brings meaning to life. How Art doesn’t just suddenly appear complete and perfect on the page. It is a searching and explorative process as the artist connects with all the details of whatever it is they are creating. It is and a series of questions that continue until that point where you actually feel complete until the next art connection and the next learning experience that is the art process. #artprocess #processismessy #artlearning (at Carnegie, Victoria)
