Freezing cold made his muscles tingle and go numb. It was really uncomfortable, even painful at first, but then his body would slowly adjust to the feeling, and for a moment, the overwhelming cold felt sort of like blissful nothingness. [...] Maybe he did know something about healing and fortitude. The cold helped overcome pain. It also made him stronger. “Yahhō~...” A soft, feminine voice by his side made him blink his thoughts away. “Oh, thank goodness, you had me worried for a second there”, she continued. “You looked like you were going into shock, all wet and staring off into space like that.”
