it wasn’t often that regina mantle DRANK —— ( alright, that was a massive lie; the jock was a party animal and it was obvious to everyone around her that’d she rather party on the weekends than bunker down for homework and important studies); and when she did? oh boy, she was a walking disaster. either that flirtatious ego of hers was maxed out to the HEAVENS or she was an intoxicated grump.

Jason couldn’t recall a time he had seen Pop’s this empty. Cheryl was out with friends, and Jason would rather not be at home on his own, so he sat boredly and mainly people-watched while sipping on his near-endless strawberry shakes.
Eventually, he called Pop Tate over and asked for a burger and an order of fries. As the man walked back to his station, the doorbell jingled and Pop greeted the new patron. Jason whipped his head around and spotted the raven-haired Lodge daughter he had only ever seen and heard of from Cheryl.
He watched her carefully, hoping to catch her eye. The boys weren’t around, therefore he wasn’t about to whistle her over to sit by him.

Helena knew it was necessary for people to group together, with the limited amount of space that they currently had-even with the reduced number of people that was currently in West Ham at the moment. But she actually didn’t mind it. After all, did it not say in the bible, Isaiah 58:7, “Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter— when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?” Which, to Helena, meant to help those who needed it.
Regardless of their situation or how she felt about them before all of this happened, whether she was close with them or not.
She shook her head at the question. “Not everyone, no. We’re still waiting on a few people. “Come on, I’ll show you to your room, if you like.”

He knows it can’t work between the two of them, knows that no matter how many times he tries to prove himself, that her father will never approve. The problem though; is that it doesn’t stop him from wanting it to work out, wanting the relationship to mean something in the bigger scheme of things. Arms cross over his chest as she speaks. He knows that she's right, the beginning is where they somehow always end up. But he's willing to start over with her, if it means that get another shot at the way things should be.
