The beetle has finally landed. . I’m proud to showcase my rug named “Beetle’s Flight”, the southeast grand prize winner of the 2nd Annual Jaime Stern Rug Design Contest. . The design inspiration for this area rug is the mural I personally hang painted in my living room. . I focused on the beetle motif above the window and allowed the creativity to develop organically. . In addition, my focus is to add more color to the space, so I used the natural colors of the beetle’s wings and body to dictate the palette. . In addition, I designed and stitched the custom garment I am wearing using Ze Haus fabrics, currently available again on Spoonflower. Servisto is a modern serving table on wheels, inspired by vintage mid-century furniture. The laconic design, with flowing curved lines, transports us to formal dinners a la buffet and cocktail parties in the 1950s. It acts as a caterer to welcome guests and serve hors d'oeuvres to assist the hosts. This is reflected in the name: Servisto from Esperanto for "servant" 🍷

Adding a new feature to an existing app!

Another tiring but exciting week at Ironhack´s been over.

On the 2nd week, I worked on the project “ adding a folder option to WhatsApp”. 

Initially, I was confident and comfortable about my solution and was thinking I would finish the project in two days... I WAS WRONG.

When it comes to add a new feature to an existing app, there are several considerations to be considered such as the location, the UI pattern , user accessibility, user needs. It is also quite important not to break existing app´s current flow with the new feature as this might decrease user engagement. 

It does not end here, when a designer finds possible solutions, the idea goes through a critiques session where the solution/ solutions are presented to peers, who are also potential users, designer collects several constructive feedback. According to feedback, solutions are re-considered and revised.

I could complete the project on its 4 days ( full 4 days) and  I´m proud of myself to be able to take further steps on my UX/UI Designer path.  I´m excited to learn and study on more projects on the upcoming days.
