     Her brows knitted upward in concern as she grimaced. Of course, she’d been injured before and didn’t even realize it but she was typically hyped up on adrenaline where this individual did not appear to be. 

           “Well if ya ain’t in any pain then it’s probably not yours. Been in fight?” She asked, keeping her distance for now.

3 Little Words

     The past week had been an absolute nightmare for her. Not a single thing had gone right and it was beginning to wear down on her. Her cheerful optimism had all but diminished and she really just needed a hug. So when Toad offered to cuddle she found herself unable to resist. 

          “Yeah,” she said almost defeated, “I really need a hug or somethin’.” Slowly, she shuffled over to him and wrapped her arms around his small frame and just relaxed her body. “Thank you.”

     She made no attempts to keep him from moving away, quickly holding her hands up as she looked at him, brows raised high. Clearly, he wasn’t ready for that level of friendship or perhaps it was something else that had triggered him. 

           “Easy! It was just a hug. You seem like you’re in need of more friendly contact but I see I overstepped. Won’t happen again,” she lowered her hands, choosing to rest them on her hips. “My apologies.”
