Claire is Coming:
Me and my group shot a short film yesterday about a very normal, everyday life and we are met with these two students who are walking to their first day of uni. while a girl behind them, who seems to be infected, or at the very start of being infected, following them. It seems rather sort, but gives the audience something to think about after the ending, such as what will happen and a lot of people like to see what happens before the out break of a zombie virus or how it starts.
We tried to film in a quiet street because we didn’t want other people in the background for example to distract the audience from the main protagonists. And we gave enough time in between when trains or helicopters appeared and we tried to make as many shots as possible.
What I think we could done better was add more shots so we could edit things in better and might of done some master shots for probably an opening for the film, to make it better than just start the actors acting, it would feel too quick.
Another Professionalism:
When I first found out the team I was in and the script I was working on Igot to work. My group members are Ayla, Leo and Munjar. And we were doing Leo’s script and Leo changed the script but in the right way, and made it look great and making it easier to film because it was only in a street.
Since I have worked with Munjar before, I instantly got his phone number because he hasn’t got any other we to contact and hopefully he will notice my messages and hopefully he shall be there to film, and I have told him that this is important, so I have let him know how important this is. I have also been the one to let others know of anything that could be a problem, such as a group mmeber not being in for the whole week.
I have also a friend who will help us with our script, she will be a charatcer in this, and we know that there is an actual drama student we might have, we will either see if other groups could use them or give him another part. But this Monday I am talking with my friend and letting her know what the script is like and she what she thinks she can help with.
Deadlines:
At the moment with deadlines I am doing the work but the work to hand in for media is slightly late. I would say that is because of memory (which I am working on) and when the work I need to hand in is writing a lot, I start to panic and then it makes me not sure on how to start it.
Although I am thinking of having a huge piece of paper which the work that needs to be handed in and what date, in big writing stuck to my bedroom TV because I am always in my bedroom and I never use my TV. I also go into another room that isn’t my bedroom because I feel too relaxed there and I move to the living room and close up all my tabs and not look at any music (even music with no vocals gets me distracted) and just put up my work to do. I do not do what others do and leave the stuff, my hobbies to when I finish it (because its like a treat) I can’t get on with my work like this because I just want to do something in games and just thinking about it distracts me so I do my hobbies first.
With writing I usually get stuck right into it when I start thinking about it, so it’s not a problem usually when I know what to do.
My role from the son film
I guess I was producer for the film, but I still did more like helping the actors with their scripts, and deciding on different ideas and helping the director/camera operator. But since we hadn’t remembered what groups we were in and that not everyone showed up, we changed the groups on the day of the filming and i had to quickly see what everyone wanted to do.

I started a vimeo account because I would love to show people what I’ve got and how I see my own films and give people something to watch.
Nurse filming:
When we decided to film a documentary about nurses, we had a lot to think about. Like if there ever was a way we could film in a hospital and about the shots we can use for the film. My responsibilities I took on for the film was research some career info about becoming a nurse and I was able to find a website that was for nurses and who could chat about their problems regarding being a nurse. I also had responsibility for location, I didn’t have to because we were thinking of filming the interview in a park, but I felt that wasn’t as formal and we could have problems with the public so I found ourselves a house we could film in with permission.
I also took responsibility for finding children. The nurse we were talking to works with children and I luckily knew some people who had children and had permission to have them in the film. I had responsibility to find out the suitable time for me and my group to meet them and the time for when the child was out of school.
I was also responsible to be the camera operator and I tried my very best to find the best shots and trying to remember to give it five seconds before finishing filming so the editing can use it without difficultly. I did have a lot of responsibility due to two of our group members not helping or letting us know why. We had let them know many times but had no response.
Professionlism
In the few days of the week I believe I’ve been professional while I worked in my team for the filming.
I believe I pushed myself further by making communication while on set, as I express my ideas and thoughts on how to shoot our scene. By doing this the director would be able to get more reasonable ideas for our film so it can fit all together nicely. I also tried to be reliable on set by asking if I should tell actors what to do in one of our scenes, that was a long shot and too far away to let them know their positions.
Although I still think I need work with communicating my thoughts to others in my team as I noticed a tripod bag on the desk and didn’t inform them as I wan’t sure it was needed or not and I didn’t have the confidence to ask.
I also think I did better at telling others in my team what to do on the set and to tell them off when they were making a bit of trouble.
I do believe I was quite organised because when I got into my team, straight away I noted down the roles that are needed and spoke to my team asking what roles they want and noted it down to show what role is being done by who in the team. I also asked team members about lunch as we would need to break for lunch and to see if everyone was able to get lunch that day and they had let me know that they were all fine and some already ate.
One more problem I didn’t settle was after photocopying the scripts for the actors, we left a team member behind as we could not find him. Fortunately we were able to get another actor and I found out that our lost team member found his way into another group which he was able to be a part of the group and help them. Next time I won;t leave the building until I exactly know that all of our team members are with us, as he may have been not fortunate and may of not been able to do anything for a film.
