Classroom Fun!
What an amazing week! Getting to educate and share life experiences with today’s youth is priceless! I was in one of the top high schools in Los Angeles for most of the week and here are a few #AHAmoments #professorttobe #roadtothephd #educatorsRock
1. Classroom management is really all about how YOU set the tone of the day from the first 2 minutes. In two minutes or less you need to establish that you care, an elevator pitch on who you are, and show that you are in charge without actually saying you are in charge (thanks to Army for teaching me that jewel)
2. There are some freaking awesome students...who love to learn and really will do the right thing when expectations are clear.
3. A simple thank you (like the one pictured from my students) really can put the biggest smile on your face...people managers don’t miss this nugget! It is not always about the money...for some people these two words are #priceless
